At first light, a group of kids from camp go to investigate the crash site of the Exodus.
Finn shakes his head at Raven, glancing towards Skye and Clarke. "They shouldn't be out here."
"Their mom was on the ship. They're looking for answers. You want to help, find me the black box, hard drives, anything that will explain why this ship crashed." She replies.
Skye looks around at the burnt bones that litter the clearing. Nearly nothing is salvageable. She thinks about her mom. The guard. All of it. Gone.
"Stay sharp. Grounder retaliation for what happened on the bridge is coming, just a matter of when." Bellamy calls out to the others.
"Can you blame them?" Finn asks.
Bellamy turns to look at him. "No, I blame you."
"Maybe if you didn't bring guns--"
Raven rolls her eyes. "If we didn't bring guns, we all would've been killed."
Bellamy sighs. "Why they're coming doesn't matter anymore. It's our job to be ready when they do. We're on our own now."
Skye notices a pinkish red liquid dripping from a container. She leans a little closer when suddenly Raven screams. "Skye, don't!"
She immediately backs up as Raven rushes over to her. "Rocket fuel?" She asks.
Raven shakes her head. "Hydrazine... Highly unstable in its non-solid form. If this stuff meets fire, we're all pink mist." She picks up a rock and dips it in the liquid.
"Fire in the hole!" She shouts as she tosses the rock into a nearby fire from the crash. It explodes.
Skye takes a deep breath. "We need to clear the area."
Bellamy nods. "Okay, then. We move in formation, no straggling, weapons hot. We got to get back before dark."
___
Upon arriving back at camp, the group was immediately met by delinquents at the gate. "Drop ship. Now. Murphy-"
That's all it takes for Skye to glance at Bellamy before the two take off. She rips open the curtain covering the door and bursts in, him following right behind.
"Where is he?" Bellamy shouts.
Skye sees someone curled into a ball. Bloody. Dirty. She reaches down and the kid flinches, backing away from her. He lifts his head and the two make eye contact. It is Murphy.
Bellamy groans and turns to the others that are inside the ship. "Everyone but Connor and Derek out now."
The kid named Derek stands by Bellamy. "He claims he was with the Grounders."
Clarke and Finn walk in and are just as shocked to see him.
Connor adjusts his grip on his weapon. "We caught him trying to sneak back into camp."
"I wasn't sneaking. I was running from the Grounders." Murphy coughs out. His voice raspy and dry.
Bellamy's face is covered in anger. "Anyone see Grounders?"
Connor shakes his head.
Bellamy lifts his gun pointing it at Murphy. "Well in that case-"
Skye blocks Murphy with her body, stepping in front of the barrel. Finn grabs Bellamy's shoulders. "Hey, what the hell is wrong with you?"
Bellamy tries shoving Finn off him. "We were clear what would happen if he came back."
"No. If he was with the Grounders, then he knows things that can help us." Finn says.
"Help us? We hanged him. We banished him, and now we're gonna kill him. Get the hell out of my way." He tries pushing Finn one last time.
"No. Finn is right." Skye says softly.
"Like hell he is. Skye, think about Charlotte." Bellamy says.
"I am thinking about her, but what happened to Charlotte was as much our fault as his. He's not lying. His fingernails were torn off. They tortured him." She says looking at Murphys mutilated body.
Finn steps away from Bellamy. "You and the Grounders should compare notes."
Clarke still stands near the door. She looks at Murphy. "What did you tell them about us?"
He leans his head against the cold metal wall with a sigh. "Everything." He speaks.
Skye stands up, looking at Bellamy. "Once he's better, we find out what he knows, and then he's out of here, okay?"
Bellamy purses his lips. "What if he refuses to leave? What do we do with him then?"
She thinks for a second, glancing back at Murphy who waits for her answer. "Then we kill him."
___
Later, Skye walks into a tent. Raven sits at a table, fumbling with the radio. Skye takes a step back, rubbing her forehead.
"Sorry, I didn't know anyone was in here."
Raven looks up and notices Skye's facial expression. "You okay?"
She nods. "Yeah."
"Still nothing from the Ark. It's like they shut it down from their side. It could be solar flares blocking the signal..."
"But you don't think so." Skye finishes for her.
Raven shakes her head. "I've got a bad feeling."
"There's a lot of that going around." Skye turns to leave the tent, when Raven stands up.
"Skye, wait. I'm sorry about your mom."
Skye lowers her head, feeling her eyes swell with tears. She turns to face Raven who gasps.
"Oh my god. Your eyes."
Skye reaches up to wipe her tears but when she pulls her hand away, it's blood. Her eyes widen and she looks at Raven who has a nervous look on her face.
Suddenly voices are heard from outside. "Skye! Where's Skye? We need Skye."
She glances at Raven one last time before she exits her tent to find Connor. He has blood all over his mouth and he's coughing.
"Connor?"
He looks at her. "It won't stop." He continues coughing up blood.
Another teen starts coughing and Raven exits her tent.
"Skye? What's happening?"
Raven tries taking a step closer as Skye almost loses her balance, but the white-haired girl holds up her hand to stop her. "Raven, get away from us."
"What?"
She looks at her. "They're the ones who brought Murphy in."
