___

You took too long

The day is done

When there's only a couple hours of sun

Will you stay or try to run?

___

Skye and Bellamy walk over to a solar panel near the fence and hide behind it, where Raven is waiting for them.

She hands each of them a bag. "Hey. Scored you a couple extra clips."

"My mom is in surgery and the team going after Kane just left. We should, too." Skye says, thanking Raven.

"Did you find Octavia?" He asks Raven.

Octavia suddenly appears behind him. "No. I found you. I'm not letting you leave here without me. Finn and Murphy are headed towards Lincoln's village."

Bellamy nods, handing her a bag.

Octavia shrugs it onto her shoulder and tries reaching for the fence, but Raven holds a hand out. "Whoa. Not so fast, Pocahontas."

She puts a metal rod on the fence, and it makes a loud buzzing noise, sparks flying up.

Bellamy tilts his head. "I thought you handled it."

Raven nods. "I did." She pulls out a walkie. "Shut her down, Wick."

She waits a moment and then puts the rod back up, smiling when no sparks appear. "Handled."

Skye gives Raven a quick hug as Octavia leads the way. Skye follows, and Bellamy climbs out last.

The three walk in silence for a few hours, spare the occasional changing of directions or bathroom break.

Skye talks a little about Mount Weather and what went down. Once the sun sets, they set up a small camp. Bellamy builds a fire and Octavia lays down.

Skye rests her head on Bellamy's shoulder, his hand absentmindedly rubbing her arm.

He sighs and looks over at her. "The last time I saw you, you were closing the drop ship door. It had to be done."

She smiles sadly, remembering how he couldn't make it inside in time. Finn went out to protect him and she had to pull the lever otherwise they'd all die.

"Are you gonna get any sleep?" She asks him.

"It's ok. I'll sleep when we find Finn. You haven't seen him, Skye. Losing Clarke, losing you... the others, the war, it changed him. He executed the Grounder that drew us the map. Pulled the trigger without even blinking and walked away."

She sits up at that. "That doesn't sound like Finn at all."

"No, it doesn't. I saw what he was capable of, and still I let him go with Murphy and 2 automatic rifles." Bellamy sighs, resting his head in his hands.

She touches his shoulder softly. "I'm sure that had to be done too."

She doesn't know how Murphy made it back. Quite frankly she doesn't want to know. The last time she saw him, he hung Bellamy, shot her and Raven, and left the drop ship by blowing a hole in the side.

Obviously, something has shifted in the past week for Bellamy to be trusting him with a gun. She trusts Bellamy's judgement.

"When we got back to the dropship and no one was there, we assumed it was the Grounders." He says, looking up.

She nods. "Of course, you did. You couldn't have known it was the Mountain Men. No one could have."

"How long until chocolate cake turns into being hung upside down and drained for their blood?"

She huffs. "I don't know..."

There's silence for a moment.

He gently touches her jaw. "I thought you were dead. I thought I'd never get to tell you how I felt. Never get to hold you again. To kiss you. To call you princess." He trails off and she leans closer to him.

"I'm right here." She whispers. He closes the gap between them with a sweet kiss. She brings her hand to the back of his head and tugs his hair slightly causing him to smirk.

He rests one hand behind her neck and the other now on the side of her face. The kiss deepens and butterflies tingle in her stomach.

He loves her. She loves him.

The princess and the king.

The kiss pulls apart and she goes back to resting her head on his shoulder.

He places a light kiss on her forehead. "We'll find Clarke. Finn, Murphy. Lincoln. And we're gonna get our people out of that mountain."

She nods and the two hold onto each other the rest of the night like their lives depended on it.

___

The gunshots echo in the empty woods. Birds scatter. Skye's footsteps feel heavy as she sprints.

Branches and dirt go flying into their faces. Bellamy is huffing. Octavia has a panic in her eyes.

Gunshots are coming from inside Lincoln's village.

Grounders don't use guns.

Skye makes it to the edge of the tree line first.

What she sees sends shivers down her spine.

A group of Grounders sit inside a fenced in box.

Several bodies lay on the ground surrounding him.

Finn. Automatic gun in hand, as he shoots down more and more.

What's even more shocking is Murphy. He's standing off to the side, fear in his eyes as he screams for Finn to stop.

Then something else happens. A branch snaps behind them and the three turn around to find Clarke, bruised and bloody.

She has cuts all over her arms. Blood is matted in her hair. She's covered in dirt.

Skye gasps, forgetting, for just a second, that Finn is gunning down innocent people. She hugs her sister, wanting to ask a million questions but not being able to form a sentence.

Instead, she just points to Finn, who is still shooting Grounders.

He finally runs out of ammo and looks up to find Clarke. His face falls. He takes a step toward her. "I found you."

Clarke just backs away, shaking her head.

Skye feels Bellamy's hand slip into hers. Tears blur her vision. Finn just murdered over half of a village.

For her and Clarke.
