So don't say that I've been actin' different
I'm nothin' if I'm not consistent
You knew everything you'd be gettin'
I told you right from the beginnin'
___
"Ark station, do you read me?" Skye asks. "Anybody there?"
Suddenly Clarkes voice appears over the static. "Skye, you're late. Every three hours means every three hours."
She sighs, looking over at Bellamy and Maya. "Are you through?" She asks.
There's silence for a moment. "Have you found the source of the acid fog?"
"No, that's gonna have to wait."
"What?? No. Nothing is more important than that."
"Our friends are." Skye snaps. Bellamy gently touches her lower back. She takes a deep breath, softening her voice slightly. "They've started taking them from the dorm one at a time, every few hours."
Raven speaks over the radio now. "Taking them where?"
Bellamy takes the radio from Skye, to let her calm down.
He holds down the button. "We don't know. We tried to follow them, but they went to a classified level. Maya borrowed the schematics of the vent system from her boss and we're still trying to find a way in."
He looks over at Maya. "Anything?"
"I don't know. I think I found a path but it's gonna be tight. Skye will have to do it."
Bellamy shakes his head. "Absolutely not."
Maya sighs. "No offense, but Skye could make it in and out quicker than you could."
"Not gonna happen." Bellamy says.
"Bell." Skye says.
He blinks. "I said don't be a hero."
She walks up to him and holds the side of his face. "I have to do this. I won't take any unnecessary risks, I promise."
He relaxes into her hand.
"Earth to Bellamy." Clarke's voice says.
He gently pulls away from Skye and holds the radio up to his mouth. "Sorry, I'm here. We have a plan."
Maya hands them each something. "Here are the walkies and the earbuds that Raven asked for."
Raven had the good idea of making Skye and Bellamy mobile so that they can talk to Camp Jaha from anywhere.
"You have to find them." Clarke says.
"That's the plan." Bellamy replies.
"If you don't, all of this is for nothing."
___
Maya leads them to a vent. "Here it is."
Skye hooks the walkie to her uniform and puts the earbud in her ear. Bellamy does the same with his.
"Remember the plan?" Maya asks her.
"Yeah." She nods.
Bellamy grabs her hand. "No unnecessary risks."
She kisses him briefly. "No unnecessary risks." She repeats.
He nods.
They maneuver the vent off the wall, and Skye climbs inside.
She spares one last look at her love before beginning her crawl through the metal vents.
It's hard to see inside. Every time she moves, it sounds like a volcanic eruption.
She follows the straight line when Raven speaks via the earbud. "Tell us where you're at now."
"I'm at an intersection. Which way?"
"We think you're close. The lab should be up ahead."
Skye scans the paths ahead of her. There are eight different ways to go. "Any chance you could be more specific?"
There's silence when suddenly she hears the unmistakable sound of a drill. She turns her head to the right.
"Nevermind..." She mumbles, continuing her crawl towards the noise.
She stops when she gets to a grated vent. There's a fan in front of it, blocking some of her vision.
She drops as low as she can, making sure she can't be seen.
"What's happening, Skye?" Bellamy says over the earpiece.
She stays silent, her jaw dropping slightly as she watches Dr. Tsing.
One of the former delinquents is on a table, covered in a sheet. The doctor drills a hole in his side, taking a syringe and extracting the blood.
"It's bone marrow extraction." Skye finally whispers.
Dr. Tsing takes the needle over to a man sitting at a chair. "You ready for the last treatment you'll ever need, lieutenant?"
He pulls the collar of his shirt down. "You have no idea. I've waited my whole like to breathe fresh air."
Clarke's voice comes across the walkie. "Emerson." Her voice is laced with anger.
Another voice speaks from down below in the lab. It's Cage Wallace. "Let's get back to this secret army Ms. Griffin claims to have. She tell you anything that might help us find it?"
Another doctor apprentice begins to drill.
Cage turns to him, irritated. "Stop drilling, please."
Dr. Tsing injects Emerson with the bone marrow. "The window for extraction after death is incredibly short."
"I only need a minute." Cage replies.
Emerson shakes his head. "No, sir. Nothing about the army. She did say she was coming for you and that if we let her people go, she'll let our people live."
Cage glances at the dead boy on the table. "Well, it's a little late for that." He pauses. "When you were with the people of the Ark, did you happen to see Skye Griffin?"
Skye's breath hitches in her throat.
"No, sir. No sign of her."
"What about her?" Dr. Tsing asks.
"We'll finish the job tonight. Whitman just radioed in. Apparently, there's a war council meeting happening tonight in one of their villages. The leaders are gonna be there. Skye should be too." Cage says.
Emerson stands. "Sir, I feel good. Let me take a team out, support Whitman."
"No, he has less chance of being spotted if he's alone."
"Sir, Whitman's good, but he can't take out that many targets alone."
"Which is why we're gonna use a missile."
