___
It doesn't look like I'll be going further
I'll pick a hole that I've festered in before
A pit so dark that I can't observe her
I'll crawl so far that you won't hear me anymore
___
"Please tell me you heard all that." Skye says, climbing out of the vent.
Bellamy wraps her in a hug.
"We heard it." Clarke says.
"We have to warn them." Raven says.
"Did Kane take a radio?"
"No, this is the only unjammed frequency. We have to keep it open for Skye and Bellamy." Raven says to Clarke.
"If I leave now, I can make it there in time." Clarke says.
Skye scoffs. "In time to be blown up, you mean."
"They're after you, Skye. Lexa too. If I can warn them, people don't have to die." Her sister says.
"And what happens when they realize I'm not at Tondc, Clarke? They're gonna realize that they can't find me anywhere, and then they're gonna start looking in rather than out." Skye says.
Bellamy runs a hand through his hair nervously. Maya looks around to make sure nobody is coming.
Clarke comes back over the radio. "When I get back, I wanna know that our friends are safe and the acid fog is down."
Bellamy speaks now. "Octavia was in Tondc when I left. Is she..."
"She's here." Clarke says. "She's safe."
"Okay, good. You be safe too." Bellamy says, sighing in relief.
The radio goes silent, and Bellamy looks at Skye. "Are you okay?"
She nods, silently.
"Why are they trying to kill you?" Maya asks.
Skye knows why. She's a threat. She has been leading her people since they landed. She didn't want to be a leader, she just wanted to survive. Now everyone looks to her for what to do.
"They're afraid of me." She whispers.
Maya nods. "We have to make this quick then. Once Clarke warns Tondc, they're gonna know we have someone on the inside."
Skye knows she's right. "Let's do this."
Bellamy puts his hands on Skye's shoulders. She kisses his cheek. "It's gonna be okay, Bell."
"I wish I believed that princess." He mutters as they let each other go, following Maya.
___
Skye paces in a storage room. Maya stands with her.
"He will be okay." She says softly.
"All it takes is one mess up and then he gets exposed." Skye says, glancing out the tiny window in the door.
Bellamy stole riot gear and went with the other soldiers to raid the dorm for the next blood donor. He is trying to pass a message to Jasper and the others.
Skye keeps pacing. She can't stop.
The minutes pass and suddenly the door to the storage room flies open. Bellamy enters and she finally stops pacing.
"Thank god." She speaks.
He removes the armor. "I gave Jasper my gun. Told them to fight harder next time."
Maya nods. "They will."
Bellamy fixes his uniform. "I hope so." He pauses. "Jasper told me to find Dante. Apparently, he's on our side."
Maya thinks for a moment. "I think I know where he is."
Skye grabs Bellamy's arm. "He knows me. Let me do it."
She's expecting him to tell her no, but surprisingly, he nods.
Maya peeks out the door into the hall before looking back at them. "It's clear. Let's go."
___
Skye carries the tray of food carefully. She uses the keycard Maya gave her to open the door to the quarantine room.
She recognizes this room. It was her room when she first woke up in the mountain. Classical music plays on a record player.
She shuts the door behind her, making sure to keep her head down and out of sight from the camera. They must've replaced the glass in the window, after she shattered it.
Dante looks at Skye and his mouth opens slightly.
"Your evening meal, president Wallace." She says.
He stares at her for a moment before walking over to the record player, adjusting the volume to be louder.
"Ms. Griffin." He says, incredulously.
Skye starts placing the food onto a nearby table.
"What are you doing here?" He asks.
"Jasper sent me. We need your help. Your son is killing my friends." She says, moving her face very little as to not catch attention to whoever may be watching.
"I'm a prisoner, same as them."
"A prisoner who knows every inch of this mountain. Every security measure." She moves across the room to pick up the plates from his prior meal.
"Who's helping you?" Dante asks. "How did you get back in the mountain?"
"That's not important right now."
He hums. "After you and your sister escaped, I had all exits fortified and put under extra surveillance. My son has no doubt changed all access and entrance codes by now. Your friends will never even make it off of level five."
"I won't let them die here." She replies.
"I'm sorry. I can't help them escape."
Skye grinds her teeth. She picks up the tray of used plates and silverware, heading towards the door.
She is about to turn the handle when he speaks again. "But I may be able to buy them some time."
