Skye is busy damping a wet cloth on Clarkes head when a distant explosion can be heard. She quickly stands, almost losing her balance as she makes her way outside. She runs into Bellamy who's looking up through the trees.
There's a large mushroom cloud of smoke covering the blue sky. Skye relaxes her shoulders.
Bellamy smiles a little. "They did it."
___
A little while later, one of the teens on watch, Harper, calls out. "They're back! Open the gate."
The gate opens to reveal Finn helping Raven. She has blood on her face. She must've gotten sick. Monty and Jasper lead the way as people congratulate them for destroying the bridge.
Skye walks outside the gate and sits down next to their self-made cemetery. She rests her hand on top of Wells grave. A tear slides down her cheek.
"Ahem."
Skye quickly wipes her tear and turns around to see Bellamy.
"You're outside of the wall without a gun."
She sighs. "14 graves."
He helps her stand and then looks at her seriously. "We need to talk about Murphy."
She shrugs. "He was right about the bridge."
"We'll see. Octavia says the Mountain Men are pissed, whatever that means." He says looking down at the piles of dirt.
"Then we need as many soldiers as we can get." She says softly.
He turns to look at her again. "We have pardon power now?"
She pats him on the cheek. "It's hard running things."
___
Skye stands near the gate, biting her nails like she does when she's stressed. Bellamy walks up to her. "Anything?"
She sighs. "It's been two days. Maybe the bomb at the bridge scared them off for good."
He huffs. "You believe that?"
She shakes her head, lowering her hand. "No. They're coming."
"Jasper thinks he can cook up some more gunpowder if he gets some sulfur, and Raven says she can turn that into landmines. So be careful where you step." He says, lips curling up slightly.
She rolls her eyes playfully. "Funny."
"What I really need is a thousand more of her tin can bombs that I can roll into their village and blow those Grounders to hell. That's what they want to do to us." He speaks.
She shrugs as Clarke walks up. "Can't believe we survived a hundred years just so we could slaughter each other. There has to be another way. Any word from the Ark?"
Skye shakes her head. "Radio silence."
Bellamy glances at the two. "Finally ran out of air."
Clarke looks at the floor. "Maybe mom was lucky being on the Exodus ship. At least it was quick."
Skye mumbles. "No one is coming to save us."
___
Later, the delinquents are heard shouting loudly in the center of camp. Skye rushes out of the drop ship to find a large fire where their food supply shack normally is.
Bellamy helps Octavia up who is coughing from all the smoke.
Murphy groans and punches one of the kids, knocking him to the ground. "This is all your fault! We told you it was too much wood."
Bellamy separates the two and shouts. "Save it for the Grounders!"
Octavia coughs again and runs a hand through her hair. "That was ALL the food!"
Once the fire is out, Skye walks up to Bellamy who's assessing the damage. "What happened?"
"Murphy says that Del kept feeding the fire, mostly because Octavia told him it was a bad idea."
She sighs. "Do we believe him?"
He nods. "I do."
She nods slowly. "Okay. We have some wild onions and nuts in the dropship. It's only enough to last us maybe one or two weeks. What's left here?"
He stands up from his crouched position. "Nothing. It's all burned."
"Then we have to hunt. Anyone we can spare goes out."
He looks at her, head tilted. "With the entire Grounder army out there?"
"We can't defend ourselves if we're starving."
He sighs. "Okay. You stay here though. Just in case."
"But-"
"No. I don't care." He says before walking off to brief the other teens so they can gear up. She groans and stomps back to the drop ship.
A few minutes later, Clarke walks up to Skye and hugs her quickly. She says she is going out with the other hunters. Skye tells her to be safe and she watches as the hunting parties go out.
___
"Hey Raven, I-" Skye pauses at the front of Ravens tent as she looks around. Raven is packing a bag. "What are you doing?"
Raven sighs and looks up. "I'm getting the hell out of here."
Skye blocks her from leaving and crosses her arms. "No way. You're not doing this."
"Really? And what makes you think you can tell me what to do, princess?"
Skye scoffs. "Where are you even gonna go?"
"Into these damn woods. Don't worry about it. I'll find someplace safe." Raven tries leaving but Skye pushes her back slightly.
"Just wait. Don't be an idiot. You go alone, and you're dead or worse."
"So, what's your plan, sit here until you and your boyfriend run out of bullets?"
Skye is taken aback. "Boyfr- you mean Bellamy? We aren't-"
"Whatever. You know what I mean." Raven says crossing her arms.
Skye takes a deep breath. "Come on, Raven. You came down here in a pod you rebuilt yourself. You made a bomb out of a tin can. What else you got in that head of yours?"
Raven thinks for a second, a lightbulb going off in her mind. "Radios. We can't defend ourselves if we can't communicate. If we can build radios, walkie-talkies- then we can fight as a team. We'd have a chance, at least."
Skye smiles as Raven sets her bag down. "See? We need you. You might be a pain in the ass, but you're smart."
