___
I won't suffer, be broken, get tired, or wasted
Surrender to nothing or give up what I
Started and stopped in, from end to beginning
A new day is coming
___
Shouts. That's all there is.
After having their clothes removed, leaving them just in their undergarments, the captured prisoners rest on their knees in front of a door. It's the same door that Skye was outside of with Anya and Clarke when they first escaped.
The Reapers shout things in their language before the door to the mountain opens.
Several solders come out, dressed in their hazmat suits. They press a button on a high frequency transmitter, causing the Reapers to back away.
Skye looks to her right where Bellamy is. He nods slightly. She looks at Lincoln who is standing to the left. He nods too.
This plan is going to work. It has to.
The Reapers line up for their drug as Dr. Tsing goes down the line.
"Harvest."
"Harvest."
"Harvest."
She gets to Bellamy. "Harvest."
She stops in front of Skye.
Skye can't help but stare at the floor. If Dr. Tsing recognizes her, it's all over.
When dirtying herself up, she also smeared mud into her hair, trying to hide some of her distinct white color.
"Harvest." Dr. Tsing says. She eyes her clipboard. "Harvest them all."
Skye releases a breath she didn't know she was holding. Somehow, the doctor didn't even bat an eye towards her.
It's now Lincoln's turn for the drug. He walks forward slowly. He looks at Bellamy and Skye before dropping to his knees.
"No." Bellamy mutters.
Lincoln tilts his head, letting the hazmat man inject him with the red. His eyes roll back and he falls to the floor, shaking from the dose.
The soldiers grab hold of each prisoner, starting to bring them inside.
Skye tries to understand what just happened. Their plan failed. They're getting harvested. They're going to die.
Bellamy tries fighting the guards, to little avail. He gets knocked to the ground and taken alongside Skye and everyone else.
The door shuts, leaving Lincoln and the outside world behind.
___
Nothing could have prepared her for decontamination.
It was unlike anything she has ever felt. The collar around her neck keeps her stuck in place as she gets hosed down with steaming water.
Some acidic powder gets tossed on them, making Skye scream in pain.
The water washes away the dirt and the blood and the sweat.
The Mountain Men inject needles into their arms. Their mouths get checked before getting a pill launched into their throats using a metal tube.
The chalkiness fills her mouth and she coughs.
Another shot.
More water.
Rough brushes scrape and scrub her body. She screams again.
She can hear Bellamy screaming too.
Please be over soon.
___
When she wakes up, she's in the harvest chamber.
She remembers it all too well. The cages. The hanging bodies. The containment door.
The cage she is in is higher up than the last time she was here. She realizes she's on the second row. She looks around. The cage to her left is empty but the cage to her right has a woman in it.
Skye reaches her hands out of the cage and starts trying to get the lock off. The cage rattles.
The woman next to her rolls her eyes. "Shof op." She looks at her, saying something else in Trig.
Skye shakes her head. "I don't understand you."
The woman leans forward. "Sky Person?"
"Yeah."
The woman spits on her.
She wipes her face, wincing. "I take it, nobody has told you that we aren't enemies anymore."
The woman says nothing, leaning back.
Skye suddenly glances around the room. "Bellamy?" She whispers.
No answer. "Bellamy???"
There's a groan below the Grounder woman's cage.
"Bellamy."
"Hey, princess." He coughs.
She can't see him but she knows he's there. She leans her head back against the metal. "I need to get out of this cage."
"And then what?" The woman beside her asks.
"And then I'll kill everyone in his mountain."
___
It's been nearly an hour since Skye woke in the cage.
She has learned that the woman next to her is named Echo.
Suddenly the door to the chamber, beeps. It opens, two soldiers walking in.
They walk up to Echo's cage.
Skye hears a shout, and she looks down to see an arm pop out from the grated cage below. It's Bellamy.
The guards bend down. "Take him."
They start to unlock his cage, and a million thoughts run through Skye's brain.
She starts kicking at the door to her own cage, yelling incoherent words and trying to scratch the Mountain Man closest to her.
"We got us a live one." The man says to his buddy.
They stick a metal rod into her cage, zapping her with electricity. She yelps in surprise, and when the door to her cage opens, she gets zapped again.
"No!" Bellamy shouts from below Echo's cage.
The man leans forward and injects Skye with a syringe causing her vision to blurry and she succumbs to the darkness.
___
The guards leave after hanging Skye up to a machine by her ankles.
Bellamy kicks and punches his cage, his eyes getting watery.
Echo hushes him. "Quiet, or they'll take you next."
"I need to get her down."
Echo looks at her unconscious body. "Why?"
"Because I love her."
