___
Either way, we're not alone
I'll find a new place to be from
A haunted house with a picket fence
To float around and ghost my friends
___
___
It is now the following morning. It was getting late, so the group made a makeshift camp for the night.
Now the teens stand around on a ledge. Finn made a rope out of vines to get them to the other side without going into the water once more.
Clarke hands him the vine. "You wanted to go first. Now quit stalling."
Octavia smiles. "Mount Weather awaits."
Jasper pats Finns shoulder. "Just hang on till the apogee, and you'll be fine."
Finn raises a brow. "The apogee like the Indians, right?"
Jasper shakes his head. "Apogee, not apache."
Skye laughs. "He knows. Today, Finn."
Finn nods and grabs hold of the vine, but Jasper stops him, glancing at Octavia. "Let me."
He adjusts his grip and smiles at Octavia before making a running start. The vine swings over the river and Jasper jumps off when he gets to the other side.
Everyone cheers happily. He finds a sign and holds it up. "Apogee!! Woooooo! Mount Weather! We did it!"
Skye throws her hands up, whooping, when suddenly something flies through the air, aimed directly at their friend on the other side of the water.
It's a spear.
The boy gets impaled in the chest, the cheering stopping promptly.
Skye gasps. "Jasper? Jasper!"
Finn pulls them to the ground as everyone covers their mouths in shock.
Clarke looks at Skye nervously. "We're not alone."
___
The five remaining teens sprint through the woods back towards the drop site. Skye trips and Monty rushes to help her.
Octavia runs a hand through her hair. "We are so screwed."
A distant scream can be heard, and everyone turns back to the noise.
"Jasper." Clarke says.
"He's alive." Skye whispers.
They run back to the ledge by the river and look across the water. Jasper isn't there.
