___
You're in the darkness all alone
And no one cares, there's no one there
But did you see the flares in the sky?
Were you blinded by the light?
___
Later, several volunteers search the river where Bellamy tossed the radio.
After quite a bit of searching, someone calls out. "I found it!"
The kid hands it to Raven who looks it over.
Clarke watches her anxiously. "Can you fix it?"
Raven sighs. "Maybe, but it'll take half the day just to dry out the components to see what's broken."
"Like I said, it's too late." Bellamy says.
He starts to walk away and Skye glares at him. "I'll handle it." She tells them.
She follows after him until they are far out of sight from the river. "Do you have any idea what you did? Do you even care?!" She calls to him.
He turns around to face her. "You asked me to help. I helped."
She scoffs, stepping forward. "Three hundred people are going to die today because of you."
"What do you want me to say, Skye?"
She takes a deep breath. "I don't know." She leans against a tree.
"Why would you shoot Jaha?"
He looks at her from the side. "I had to. It's the only way I could've gotten on the ship."
She nods. She doesn't agree with it, but she understands. He had to protect Octavia.
He takes a step closer to her. Then another. Then another. Now he stands a few inches apart from her. She leans against the tree.
"Plus..." He says holding the side of her face. "If I didn't, I never would've met you."
She has the urge to scoff but she is unable to do anything at all with him this close to her.
He gets close to her ear and whispers. "I want to finish what we started earlier." He puts his hands on her waist.
That's her weakness and he is fully aware of it.
She rolls her eyes, trying to play off the fact that she's holding her breath. "We're in the middle of the woods, Bell."
He smirks at the use of the nickname that has now become second nature to her
The first time was a slip, but now it slides out of her mouth all the time.
He speaks softly. "I don't care about that."
Her heart flutters again.
"I know you want to kiss me."
This time she actually scoffs. "Pfft. Okay."
He leans a tiny bit closer. "I want to kiss you, princess" He lowers his voice even more when he calls her that.
She swallows. He blinks.
She can't take it anymore. She grabs his face and pulls him closer with force, closing the gap. She presses her lips to his in a fiery kiss.
He smiles against her mouth, and she lets go of his face, instead grabbing the collar of his shirt.
The kiss goes on for a minute before he pulls away, leaving them both breathless and craving more.
He still holds her waist gently. "Wow." He whispers.
She smiles. "Wow."
He leans in again, but they hear footsteps, so he quickly steps back, allowing her to remove herself from the tree.
It's Clarke and the others. "There you are." She says, not seeming to realize the obvious blush on both of their cheeks. "We have a plan. Cmon."
___
The group walks quickly back to camp as Raven explains the plan. The group is going to make flares to send up. Hopefully if they launch in enough time, the Ark will see them and know that the hundred is alive.
Hours pass and the rockets are finally built. The sun has started to set. They all launch at the same time and Bellamy stands next to Skye.
"You think they can see it up there?"
She sighs. "I don't know."
He slips his hand into hers. She looks up at him.
He looks down and gives her a soft smile. "I hope they see it."
She nods. "Me too."
___
Later that night, Skye sits on her cot in her tent. She can't sleep.
Suddenly the flap flies open, and she looks up to see Bellamy.
"Hey-"
He cuts her off, a hint of panic in his face. "Have you seen Octavia?"
"No... I'm sure she's here somewhere."
He shakes his head. "I checked the camp. She's not here, Skye."
She stands. "Okay. I'll help look. Let's check one more time."
He nods. "Thank you."
The two search the camp and come up short. He calls for a camp meeting by the fire. "Hey, everybody, gather around and grab a weapon. My sister's been out there alone for 12 hours. Arm up. We're not coming back without her."
People start gathering their things when someone looks up.
"Did you see that? Look up there. It's so beautiful."
Skye looks up to see hundreds of things falling out of the star-filled sky.
Raven sighs. "They didn't work. They didn't see the flares."
Bellamy glances at her. "A meteor shower tells you that?"
Clarke shakes her head. "It's not a meteor shower, it's a funeral. Hundreds of bodies being returned to the earth from the Ark. This is what it looks like from the other side."
Raven storms up to Bellamy. "This is all because of you!"
He holds his hands up. "I helped you find the radio."
"Yeah, after you jacked it from my pod and trashed it!"
Clarke grabs her shoulder. "He knows. Now he has to live with it."
Bellamy glances at Skye who looks at him with a nervous look on her face. "I don't have time for this. I need to find Octavia. Who's coming?"
Several people nod in agreement.
Skye speaks. "I'm going too."
Bellamy looks at her. "No."
She crosses her arms. "What do you mean, no? I want to help."
He grabs her wrist and pulls her aside. "What if something happens to you?"
She looks at him. "I'll be fine."
He groans in annoyance. "Fine."
He turns to the others. "Let's move out!"
