___

Hate is such an ancient game

When we're all that we have left, yet we aim to kill

Pretending that we're made of steel

Living in a battlefield

___

Skye is panting and out of breath as she dodges a punch.

She swings high, and her opponent grabs her arm. He punches her in the chest, and she grunts but doesn't let up.

She kicks him hard in the stomach and he falls back but gets right back up. He swings but she ducks low enough to avoid his fist, taking this time to hit him again.

He yanks himself from her grasp and flips her onto her back.

She sighs in annoyance. "Damn it."

Lincoln offers his hand out to her. She takes it, standing up.

He turns to the onlookers. "She had me, but she was too aggressive."

She rolls her eyes. "Whatever you say, Linc."

The crowd chuckles.

It's been three months since the genocide in Mount Weather.

The Ark is thriving now.

Lincoln has been hosting a training group with a handful of delinquents. Bellamy, Skye, Harper, and Monroe are amongst them.

Bellamy, who was shirtless from training with Lincoln just prior to Skye's attempt, is now putting his shirt back on.

"Quitting so soon?" Lincoln asks him.

"Mapping run. Sector 7." Bellamy replies.

Skye huffs, looking away from her boyfriend. "Harper, let's get this over with."

The blonde nods, tossing a duffel bag to Lincoln.

"The council wants you to have that." Skye tells him.

Lincoln opens the bag, pulling out a guard's uniform. "I'm Trikru."

"A uniform doesn't change that." Bellamy chimes in.

Skye nods, patting Lincoln on the back. "This is our home now. We fought for it. Too many of our friends died for it."

Bellamy nods, turning to the others. "On the Ark, the uniform meant something different. Down here, it means what we make it mean. Together." He lowers his voice as he mumbles to Lincoln. "My sister will understand that eventually."

Lincoln sets the uniform on a bench. "Pair up and fight." He tells the trainees.

Skye takes her hair down from the ponytail it was in, standing near Bellamy silently.

Lincoln walks over to them. "Sector 7? That puts you right at the Ice Nation border."

Bellamy nods. "I know."

Lincoln shakes his head. "Just because Azgeda is part of the Commander's coalition doesn't mean they respect the ceasefire. I should be on that scout." He speaks.

"I wish. We all do." Bellamy states. "But until the Commander agrees to lift the kill order on you, you're more trouble than you're worth."

___

Skye and Bellamy walk into the Chancellor's room.

Her mother is asleep on the couch.

Kane stands in front of a board covered in notes and mapping. "Shh. It's the first sleep the Chancellor has had in two days." He tells them.
