___

And there's still weight on my back, I just try to ignore it

I guess the stage was my mask, I forgot the way I looked before I wore it

___

It's daybreak by the time Lincoln, Bellamy, and Skye begin their journey to the mountain.

Bellamy has made it very clear that he is unhappy with Skye's decision to come with him.

She isn't budging. She is going with him, or he isn't going at all. That's the deal.

Before they left, she informed Lexa of the plan.

"You and Bellamy are going to break into the mountain?" She asked, perplexed.

"Yes." Skye replied.

Lexa thought silently for a moment. "Are you sure about this?"

Skye nodded. "I'm leaving Clarke in charge. She knows the plan and she has a good head on her shoulders. She can take over while I'm gone."

Lexa held out her arm. Skye took it. "Be safe."

"We will." She spoke.

Now the three in the woods stand before a deceased deer. Lincoln bends down, using his knife to slice it open.

He takes the blood and rubs some on his mouth and body. He has to look like a Reaper for this plan to work.

Bellamy bends down to him. "Okay. So we make it to the intake door without any of the real Reapers seeing us. What happens then?"

"I kill everyone, and you two slip inside."

He looks at Skye. "Limestone."

She nods, reaching into her bag and pulling out a small pouch. She hands it to Lincoln who takes white powder and smears it across his face.

"Let's get going." He says, standing up. "We have a lot of ground to cover before dark."

They start walking and Skye taps Lincoln's shoulder. "What happens after the intake door?"

He glances at her as he walks. "They remove your clothes. Blast you with boiling water, and then douse you with something that burns even worse."

Skye swallows the little saliva in her mouth.

"And then we were sorted." Lincoln continues. "The others were tagged 'harvest'. I was tagged 'cerberus', turned into a Reaper."

"Cerberus" Bellamy repeats. "Three-headed dog that guards the underworld."

Lincoln tilts his head.

"My mom read mythology to us all the time. Octavia loved it." He says.

After that, the walk is silent for a while. Lincoln walks ahead of the two, still within sight.

"It's not too late to turn back." Bellamy tells her.

"Stop it, Bell."

"Stop what? Trying to protect you from a world of hurt? You don't have to do this. Whatever you're trying to prove, isn't worth it."

She scoffs, turning to him. "I'm not trying to prove anything."

"Then what are you doing? Leaving your sister in charge, when everyone knows that she isn't thinking straight?"

Skye jabs her pointer finger into his chest. "Don't talk about my sister." She says angrily.

Bellamy holds his hands up. "I'm just saying, there's a reason everyone looks to you and not her."
