___

We were blind to unforeseen circumstances

We learned the right steps to different dances

And fell victim to interlopers' glances

Lost the game of change, what are the chances?

Lexa stands before the village.

"Kru kom Tondc, raun faya, oso wata kleen laudnes day kom foutaim."

Lincoln stands with the people of the Ark. "People of Tondc," he repeats after Lexa, in English so they can understand, "in fire, we cleanse the pain of the past."

Gustus hands the Commander a flaming torch. Before her, is the pile of covered corpses from Lincoln's village. Finn's body is also with them.

She holds the torch high, before looking over at Skye. She offers the torch to her. "Skye."

Grounders around the village start to mumble amongst themselves.

Bellamy gently nudges her with his hand. She steps forward, taking the torch from Lexa.

"Yu gomplei ste odon." Skye says, lighting the bodies on fire.

___

Skye stands beside Lexa while the fire burns and burns. They stand there until there is no more flame. No more smoke.

Clarke walks by, completely avoiding the ash. Skye sighs, wishing the circumstances had played out differently.

"I lost someone special to me once." Lexa says softly. "Her name was Costia."

Skye looks up at that.

"She was captured by the Ice Nation whose queen believed she knew my secrets." She pauses. "Because she was mine... they tortured her. Killed her. Cut off her head."

"I'm sorry."

Lexa continues. "I thought I'd never get over the pain. But I did."

Bellamy crosses Skye's mind. She could never even imagine losing him. When she thought he was gone, she felt empty. They haven't even known each other long yet she feels so attached to him.

"How?" She mumbles.

"By recognizing it for what it is. Weakness."

Skye looks at her. "What is? Love?"

Lexa nods. Skye goes silent, looking back down at the remains of the fire.

"I sense you blame yourself for the boy's death."
