Chapter 32.

It had been 3 days since Taehyung had last seen Jeongguk, and he hadn't expected to be as painful as it was now. The house was full, the entire family was home, yet it felt empty. There was a constant fear something would happen, but he told himself that it wasn't Jeongguk's job to protect him.

He laid on the couch bored, it was eleven at night and the two kids were playing with their toys from Christmas. New years had already past and he still hadn't received any text from Jeongguk.

Maybe he doesn't want me to have a happy new year. Taehyung joked to himself, staring up at the ceiling with his phone laying on his chest. A smile rested on his face whilst remembering the time the two had together before Jeongguk left, and he had to admit he was beginning to love spending time with Jeongguk more than anyone.

Jeongguk looked away from his ceiling and rolled on his bed. His phone laid beside him, where he wished Taehyung was instead. He tapped the phone screen and smiled when he saw the wallpaper of Taehyung he had sneakily took.

It was of the boy prettily staring into the distance when they were eating together, cheeks and nose blushing a faint pink and contrasting with the light blue tint around him.

God, I miss him. I should text him- it's been three days I wonder if he'll text me. Jeongguk nervously picked up his phone and tapped the boys contact.

Just say happy new year even though it's past. Or should I ask if everything's okay at home? Jeongguk began to slowly type, pressing each letter with fear of it being the wrong thing to say.

Taehyung shot up, gasping so hard and loud he began to choke on air. The two kids stopped playing too and turned to him with confused eyes. It took him at least five minutes to calm down, and a thousand blinks to make sure what he had read wasn't his imagination. At first he assumed that he was so terribly missing Jeongguk that his mind created some delusional notification for him.

When the realisation set in, he began to slowly type too. Mina jumped up onto the couch and rested her head against his shoulder whilst watching the phone eagerly.

"Do you like him?!" Mina gasped, sitting up straight to face the red boy.

"I don't know, why are you asking me now too? Minjoon was asking me if I'd marry him," Taehyung suspiciously pointed at the two who just innocently smiled at him.

"So will you?" Mina fluttered her long lashes, leaning forward in anticipation whilst Taehyung hesitated to answer her.

"Should I? Do you think he's good for me?" Taehyung laughed finding it adorable how the two were so into him having a crush.

"Obviously! He's so cute, he's always here, he's always with you, he's kind, he helps you a lot, he takes care of you, he-"

"Alright alright," Taehyung giggled, "I'll marry him if it makes you happy,"

"Can I pick the wedding dress?!"

"I'd wear a suit dumbass," He gently smacked her and then returned to his phone.

Taehyung hesitated at first, but gained some courage to reply.

Within a second his phone switched his own face, Mina and Minjoon were beside him watching too and the girls small fingers tapped the screen to pick up.

Jeongguk's eyes lit up instantly, a excited laugh leaving him, "Hello!" He waved at the screen, cooing at how Minjoon began to try and take his phone.

"Min, stop," Taehyung softly laughed too, pulling the phone out of his right grip.

"Hi Jeongguk!" Mina took the phone from Taehyung who just decided to let the two mess around first.

"Hi Mina, how has the 3 days been without me?" Jeongguk enthusiastically asked, doe eyes watching the girl dramatically sigh and shake her head.

"Devastating! It's so boring now," She huffed. The sight had Taehyung in tears, the girl acted like a grown woman speaking to her friends over the phone after a long day of work, "But guess what, I asked Taehyungie what you wanted me-"

"Mina!" Jeongguk quickly cut her off, his cheeks began to turn dark and his heart was pounding against his chest basically. Taehyung raised his eyes in suspicion again, the three had definitely planned to ask the marriage question.

"I asked him if he'd marry you! And then he-"

"Mina!" Taehyung attempted to snatch the phone, but the girl just shuffled away and continued to speak.

"He said he'll marry you,"

"Oh really?" Jeongguk felt his cheeks burn more, "How badly?"

Taehyung's heart was screaming, he pressed his hands against each other in a pleading manner and begged the girl to keep her mouth shut. He knew he was fucked when the girl gave him an evil smile.

"Really bad! He misses you so much, he didn't sleep last night because he was-"

"How do you know?" Taehyung frowned, "I thought you went to bed when I asked!"

"Um, Jeongguk wants to speak to you," She chucked the phone at Taehyung who opened his mouth to scold her, "Gotta blast!"

Jeongguk watched the scene with a fond smile, feeling his heart warm up when he saw Minjoon laying his head on Taehyung's chest whilst the boy calmed down.

"Why didn't you sleep last night?" Jeongguk quietly spoke not wanting to wake up the sleeping boy.

Taehyung swallowed harshly and hesitantly answered, "I don't know, just wasn't tired and it feels to empty to sleep," he mumbled. It felt weird to sleep without Jeongguk, even if they only ever shared the bed a few times.

"Same here," Jeongguk admired how long Taehyung's lashes looked when the boy stared down shyly, "Is everything okay at home?"

"Yeah," Taehyung couldn't help but snort at how Jeongguk asked him, "When are you going to come back?"

"Nighttime tomorrow, a day before school starts again," Jeongguk yawned and began to get comfortable in bed again, "You should go to sleep, it's getting late and Minjoon's sleeping too,"

"But we've only been talking for five minutes," Taehyung didn't intend to sound so cute and speak in a pouty voice. Jeongguk tried to contain himself, however, he ended up grinning like an idiot anyway.

"Just don't end the call,"
