After retying her bikini back around her body, Eleanor ventured outside, the sky was on the very brim of night. The very last slithers of orange, were getting consumed by the deep purple clouds.
Her head tilted as she spun slowly in a circle to get a 360 degree view of the stars already dotting the sky.
Luke stood pressed against the doorframe, his eyes taking in the heartwarming scene before him. His lips grew into a smile, watching her, as she twirled around.
He looked at her the way she had always deserved to be looked at, like anything could happen around him, the world could set on fire or the sky could fall, and he wouldn't blink, he wouldn't flinch.
He looked at her even when the sky was filled with stars, he looked at her when the sunset exploded across the sky, he looked at her, because nothing could ever be as beautiful or as important.
But, there was a slight fearfulness in his eyes. Only those who really paid attention would see it. A fear that she could disappear from his life just as fast as she became his reason for it and that alone, scared him to death.
But he wasn't to waste another moment too scared to try.
Snaking his arms around her waist, his chin sat on her shoulder, her giggle surrounding them.
"Should we get in the hot tub now?" He chuckled as her body sunk backwards into his.
"I'd love to" she smiled, spinning around, pecking his cheek and heading towards the tub. Swiftly, she pulled Luke's t-shirt over her head.
Luke watched with a smile as he pressed play, music now filling in the background. Only Love by Ben Howard setting the mood.
Luke stepped into the tub first, offering his hands out to help, mumbling 'careful' as she stepped in.
With her eyes locked with his, Eleanor grasped onto his fingers as she got into the water. The temperature sent goosebumps around her whole body. It was perfect.
Slowly, Luke sank into the corner, the warm water encasing his body like a hug. He felt every muscle relax, his mind clearing. Being submerged in water had always helped to recharge him.
Eleanor watched as his whole demeanor changed. He was physically and so visibly decompressing. It was comforting to see.
Luke's arms stretched across the back of the hot tub, Eleanor studied the broadness of his shoulders- a weak spot of hers, especially with the red marks left behind by her from earlier.
"Come here baby," Luke pleaded, wanting to feel her presence. Eleanor scooted over, leaning her side into his as his arm wrapped tightly around her waist.
The hour passed by, the roar of the bubbles and the low hum of Luke's playlist were the only sounds they could hear, well and the occasional siren and beep from the city traffic below.
