Have you ever had someone in your life that no matter what you do or what you say, you can't quite express what they mean to you. And it doesn't even matter if you've known them your whole life or if it's someone who hasn't been in your life for long, but from the moment they entered it, they transformed it. They made you feel a little more alive.
For Eleanor that person was Luke.
Even though she had tried and tried and tried, the page still remained blank.
God why can't I write. She exasperated in frustration.
Everything else on the list had been completed: food bought, cake made, decorations picked up and location secured. All that was left was words.
She wanted to tell Luke exactly how she felt but words had escaped her. The pressure of making it perfect really gave her writer's block.
"Ellie, that's like the hundredth piece of paper you've screwed up. You don't need to write it down, just say how you feel when the moment arrives" Chase added, collecting the balls of paper and putting them into the trash.
"But what if I freeze and nothing comes out?" She looked terrified at the idea.
Chase sighed and sat next to her.
"Ellie, if the moment comes and you go blank, that may be a sign something isn't right."
"What no! I love him..."
"...from the moment I met him he's captivated me like nobody else has or ever could. Even though he's quiet and hella moody, beneath that exterior, he has the kindest soul and god he's helped me through so much already. I laugh so much when I'm with him and I just want to spend every second of every single day with him and I want more than anything for him to get the birthday he deserves because Chase, this boy deserves everything, the moon, the stars even the sun, he deserves to know how incredibly talented and beautiful he is and I know in my heart Chase he is the one".
Eleanor's heart couldn't get any bigger. "I guess I'll say something like that," Eleanor giggled, Chase joined in too, ruffling the silly girls hair up.

"Take a deep breath Eleanor, you've got this" she smiled, before heading to work to see Luke.
That's right, Luke was working on his birthday despite having the go ahead to have it off.
Luke had never enjoyed his birthday.
Actually that would be a lie, his childhood birthdays were amazing.
There really is no magical place like your childhood, at least for Luke anyway. It's a sacred place of unconditional love, the comforting barriers of a safety net but with the freedom to explore and be whoever you want to be.
