A week had passed since the magical getaway in the treehouse. Whilst Eleanor fluttered in a cloud filled dream, a storm raged on the not so distant horizon.

She sprang out of bed despite it being a gloomy Monday morning in December, leaving Luke to sleep in. He still wasn't a fan of waking up before the sun.

After reading her book curled up in her chair beneath her favorite soft blanket, Eleanor had her breakfast and got ready for her shift. She was due in a few hours before Luke today.

Tiptoeing into the still dark bedroom, she perch on the edge of the bed. Stroking her fingers through his curls, he smiled in his sleep accompanied with a groan. It was a bittersweet sensation to be awoken by your girl despite wanting to carry on sleeping. Rubbing his eyes he grumbled, "don't go, come here" he pouted, pulling her into bed with him. How could she resist?

The warmth hit her first followed by his scent. She snuggled up to his warm, bare chest and started to draw patterns against his skin. Luke nestled his head on top of hers and enjoyed the bliss.

"Ok Mr, I've got to go and you need to get up and get ready!" She demanded as she pried herself out of his grip. He sulked as he threw his legs over the edge of the bed.

"There's breakfast for you on the counter, I'll see you at 11" she pecked his lips before heading to work.

By the time Luke had joined her, she was ready for a break. The shop had been so busy with early Christmas shoppers and people taking refuge from the winter weather.

Luke kept his post on the till and there really wasn't a let up, customer after customer. He felt the vibrations from his phone rumble against his clothes. His heart thudded and his mind was sent into a whirlpool of anxiety.

"I can't believe it's four already, I swear I haven't stopped once today" Eleanor sighed, wiping her forehead as she joined Luke at the till.

Only when she didn't get a response did she turn her head to look at him. His expression was vacant as he stared into space.

"Lu?" She asked.

Still nothing.

"Hello? Earth to Luke?" She giggled as she waved her palm in front of his eyes. He immediately regained focus and turned to face her.

"Sorry El, what did you say?" He bit at his fingernail.

"I was just saying it's been busy today, are you okay?" She asked, concerned.

"Yes I'm alright" he smiled, "as you said, it's been busy" he trailed off as he looked out the window, his eyes scanning the remaining shoppers.

"I'm thinking tacos for dinner tonight, what do you think?" Eleanor asked as she straightened out the till counter.
