Blood curdling cries filled the apartment for the third time that night. Nightmare after nightmare rolled in like storm waves, thrashing and beating up the delicate shore.

Chase held her as safely as he could but he couldn't stop the monsters from tormenting her.

His arms may keep her protected on the outside, but he couldn't protect her from the terror on the inside; she had to fight alone.

He should have stopped her from going. He should have been there to protect her.

He shouldn't have trusted Luke.

The more he thought of him, the angrier he got.

Eleanor rocked with her knees to her chest as the panic attacks drained her from everything.

Chase stroked her hair in an attempt to heal the damage that had already been done.

Tonight had been too much.

Memories flashed in her mind of Nate, the drunk man and the feeling of his hands, the loud thudding noise of the bass, the high pitch laughs of the exact type of people she hated and the absence of Luke.

Why did she even think she could handle something like that? Who was she kidding?

She would never be able to be like normal people partying and living life as people her age should.

She felt beyond embarrassed. The guy was probably only trying to hook up with her but yet she had to be so dramatic about it.

Chase watched her as she mumbled odd words, her eyes consumed with fear. They darted around the room searching for a way out of her mind.

He too was searching his mind for a solution. He had already tried everything that usually works-  hair playing, guitar strumming, cuddling- he even sang her favorite song- nothing.

"No!" he muttered to himself as an idea crossed his mind. But what other alternative did he have? Nothing he was doing was working and if she didn't calm down soon she would probably either pass out or be sick.

He had no choice.

"Shit" he mumbled before carefully untangling himself.

Dialing a number in his phone, he paced up and down the hallway, hand tugging at his hair as he anxiously waited for a voice on the other end,

"Chase?" the voice croaked.

"El needs you." Was all he said through gritted teeth before he hung up and returned to her.

Luke's heart beated violently in his ribcage as he scrambled to put his converse on.

Pushing clumsily through the already unlocked door, his whole body froze when his eyes found her. Ignoring the angered expression of the man next to her, he knelt in front of her.
