What keeps you up at night?
It's strange to think that most of the world's villains don't actually live in woods or the dark, creepy places they are so commonly associated with, they actually hide in plain sight.
In the notes app of his phone, Luke had begun to list every single person he knew... which he had come to realize he didn't actually know that many.
Luke and Eleanor were avid crime documentary watches, he had learnt that in the majority of cases, crime was linked to someone who the victim knew. And of course no crime had been committed against him...well that's if you discounted the fact he had sent $100 to the bank account of a stranger.
He could go to the cops about this... he could tell Eleanor but he knew deep down if this had anything to do with his father, he needed to keep both well clear.
He handled his father last time, he would be able to do it again.
Releasing a breath, he shoved his phone back into his pocket and headed out of the door. He didn't like to dwell too much on the weird happenings that he had experienced lately. No good can come of overthinking he thought (a new belief solely influenced by Eleanor).
Eleanor's birthday was in exactly 4 days. Luke had spent most of November racking his brain for the perfect plan. After all she had given him the best birthday in summer. It was only right of him to return the favour. Thanks to the help from Chase, they had come up with a plan worthy enough.
Today was the eve of her birthday and as the autumn sun illuminated through Eleanor's apartment, she twisted her hair into a messy bun held in place by her baby blue claw clip.
Rummaging through her closet, the decision was almost impossible. She loved autumn clothes, especially the warmth of the colors.
Eventually, Eleanor had chosen her flared black trousers, a chunky, burnt orange knit jumper that was half tucked in, half not as well as her black biker boots and her knee length black coat. She finished it all off with her new fluffy gloves, shoving them deep into her coat pockets.
She wasn't quite sure on the plan for the day and all that she knew was to wrap up warm, Luke had kept everything else well sealed. She was quite thankful for the distraction since tonight she was doing a promo performance. After weeks of creating, producing and mixing, four of her songs were ready and Mr.IKnowEverybody, Nate, had got her a spot on the new talent line up. She felt ready despite her nerves.
After one last check in the mirror, she pushed her nerves down and went to say bye to Chase and Jess who were sprawled across each other in the living room as they began their Game of Thrones marathon. Eleanor had never been keen on that series.
Luke greeted her in the doorway and she took a second to appreciate his attire. He had blue trousers and his favorite dark hoodie with his well loved converse .
