chapter sixteen: “purple librarian and calvary captain.

(n/a: might add an event-like story that clearly explains the MC's backstory.)

“OH, KAEYA DEAR? WHAT BRINGS YOU HERE?

(NAME) DRACONIA QUESTIONED, seeing the male waiting in front of her door. She rubbed her eyes to see him holding a basket full of fruits and snacks. Once the realization hit her, she immediately pat his head and hugged him. He was blushing madly from the sudden motherly gesture he was receiving...

"Um, I brought these for you, Ms. (n/n)," he said, nervously handing her the basket once they parted from the hug. "The bard told me you're kind of fond of fruits and snacks as pastime meals, so please accept this in exchange for my gratitude for taking care of us the other day."

She smiled before pinching his cheek, "You shouldn't mind, but thank you for this. I'll cherish these snacks you bought for me," she said and took the basket. "Do come inside."

"Oh, it's alright! No need!" He said while scratching the back of his head. "I'm the Cavalry Captain, so I still have other things to take care of. I should be leaving you since you're an adventurer yourself."

She pinched her chin, "I don't mind sparing my time." She said before placing the gift on the coffee table. "I could do my commissions later, so do you mind if I join your duties for today?"

Being the doting guardian she is, she put on a sweet smile in front of the Cavalry Captain as if he were her son—she always adored children. Kaeya was blushing from her request, immediately hiding his face with his hands as he do so—his serious facade crumbling before her...

"Sure, Ms. (n/n)!" He stammered, accepting her offer. Placing a fist in front of his mouth, he cleared his throat, "I must warn you. Being a Cavalry Captain isn't something you should play with—"

She patted his head, "It's alright. I can take it," she assured him. "Let me change real quick."

"What brings you here, cutie?" Lisa, the Knights of Favonius's Librarian, asked as the blonde politely closed the door. "Where's your little companion?" she added.

"She's sleeping at the moment," Lumine replied. "Do you have any books related to Dragons? I'm curious about their origins and abilities." She said.

The brunette nodded before beckoning the blonde to follow her. She went towards the end of the bookshelves within the library, brushing her fingers against the labels of it—then stopped when she touched the one labeled lizard species. She specifically took the one with a dragon cover, giving it to Lumine...

"Do remember to give it back to me on time!" Lisa reminded, placing a kiss on Lumine's cheek, and slipped a library cheque as a sign of her approval. "I dislike finding you in every corner of Mondstat if you forgot it again, alright?"
