chapter fifty-seven: “hanamizaka heroics.”
“SHE'S NOT HERE?!”
ORTHO YELLED in disbelief, not satisfied with the news they received from the shrine maidens. (Name) maybe smiling beside him, but she also has a sour aura surrounding her. The shrine maidens shriek in fear from the vibe the duo was emitting, overwhelmed...
"I'm so sorry, dear. I'm afraid she left an hour ago and hasn't returned," the first shrine maiden apologized. "However, we could assist you instead!"
The second one nodded, "Yes! We could help you solve your problems while the Guuji Yae is away," she agreed but the younger Shroud gave her a dirty look. "I AM SO SORRY! WE COULDN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT!"
(Name) placed a hand on Ortho's shoulder, "Let me handle this." She told him, making the shrine maidens even more terrified than they are. "I want to know where the Guuji Yae went, so I could talk to her."
"I'm afraid she warned us not to tell where she went," the third shrine maiden remarked. (Name) hummed in her direction, making her flinch from the gaze, "I CAN ASSURE YOU! WE DON'T WANT TO BE SCOLDED BY THE GUUJI YAE! IF WE DO TELL YOU WHERE SHE IS, WE'LL BE—"
Just then, the weather turned into a rainy one. Ortho panicked and hid behind (Name) while the shrine maidens compressed each other from here because of the tall woman before them—still wearing the smile from earlier without a care from the weather...
"Are you doing this?!" The second one screeched in fear.
(Name) tilted her head, "Oh? What makes you say that?"
"YOU'RE GIVING OFF THE VIBE YOU CAN CONTROL THE WEATHER!"
"You do know a 'mere mortal' couldn't control the weather. That includes me," the Queen taunted them as flashes of lightning started to be heard. She then started to approach them, "I'm not the Raiden Shogun. Nor I'm able to possess the power to control anything like that."
"PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM US!"
A polearm then suddenly was pointed at them, "Or what? It's not like you could do anything other than yell at me, yes?" (Name) mocked once again, her smile turning into a smirk. "Now, let me ask you again—Where's Yae Miko?"
"SHE'S IN THE YAE PUBLISHING HOUSE! JUST NEAR THE AMENOMA SMITHY, MA'AM!" The shrine maidens yelled in unison, squealing at the top of their lungs. "PLEASE DON'T KILL US NOW!"
In return, the weather turned into its normal state and she returned her polearm. "That wasn't so bad, is it?" The Queen said, patting their heads. "Don't worry. If Yae happens to punish you, I'll be taking care of her. After all, I'm a good friend of your Head Shrine Maiden."
