chapter forty-seven: “the balladeer.”

(n/a: no, Scaramouche isn't part of the love interests.)

“I'M AFRAID WE'LL LEAVE YOU IN THE CARE OF THE BALLADEER.”

"I WILL NEVER BABYSIT A FUCKING GODDESS!”

THE DAMSELETTE told the divine goddess while her fellow harbinger, the Balladeer, doesn't seem pleased with it. The older harbinger was holding a rather short male, a light purple-ish hair with a jellyfish haircut, and wearing a large hat. (Name) tilted her head a bit, examining his features...

"I need to do something at the moment, Ms. (Name). I hope you'll have fun with him," Columbina waved her hands and then looked at the short male. "Don't you try to disrespect her, alright?"

He clicked his tongue and averted his gaze, "Whatever..." He said in a rather sarcastic way. He then glared at (Name), "Don't even think about it. I'm not going to take care of you, got it?"

"Of course, don't worry about me. I'm not a child anymore, so you can do anything you want," she assured while smiling at him. "What name do you go by though?"

"Why do you need to know?" He asked, his gaze never faltering even though she was taller than him. "It's not like a goddess like you would care to call me by my name. All deities are like that anyway... Sees the mortal or immortal life under them as filth. You're one of them, I bet," what he said pierced through (Name).

She knows how he talks. Ei talks like that before they got together, often being rude to her whenever they see each other. She didn't mind since Celestia isn't something nice despite being something heavenly in the eyes of the mortals. They don't even hesitate to kill something and make the gods kill that specific thing or person. Went even to lengths to destroy a whole nation...

"That's not true. I see everyone as my equal," (Name) denied his accusation. He wasn't convinced by a mere sentence, "I can assure you. I might be a goddess from above, but I don't see people under me as filth. Every life is important after all."

He scoffed and crossed his arms, "Do I look like I'll listen to you?" He asked, earning a disgruntled sigh from (Name). "I have heard of you. You're that Archon who married the first Harbinger... Aren't you supposed to be in Celestia?"

The (h/c)-haired woman hummed, "I have longed cut my connections with Celestia and now I'm banned to return to its divine seats... Wasn't that written in the history books here in Tevyat?" She chuckled feverishly, smiling oh-so sweetly at the Balladeer. "Now that I've taken a close look at you... You seem familiar..."
