chapter thirty: “streetward rambler.”

(n/a: out of motivation yesterday, late update.)

“TSUNOTARO, DID YOU NOTICE THE WAY MR. ZHONGLI LOOKS AT YOU?”

THE FLOATING EMERGENCY FOOD questioned the beautiful lady, earning a terrified flinch from her. Ever since the two met, the way the brunette stares at their disguised friend is lovable and full of adoration...

"What do you mean, Paimon?" (Name) questioned with a raised eyebrow to indicate she was confused. 'Goodness. Can we stop talking about him already?' She sighed mentally, thinking that he wasn't around but Paimon brought him into another conversation again.

"Paimon means—Paimon thinks he likes you of some sort. Like if you're married, there's this expression full of love in his eyes! Or something like that? Paimon doesn't know since she hasn't gotten to marry someone," the floating child uttered and earned a flinch from the Queen. "Heck, Paimon thinks he's in love with you!"

That statement irritated her, "You think so? Mr. Zhongli and I just met today. I doubt he'll like me," she uttered. "Either way, I'm sure he's not the type to fall in love so easily with a stranger he just met."

"Did you know the Traveler likes y—"

Lumine immediately covered her companion's mouth, "Paimon! Shut your mouth!" She hissed, preventing the child from telling the secret they share. "You promised you wouldn't tell her about that."

"You already have Master Diluc as your rival and now another guy is unto Tsunotaro's heart! Paimon hates to admit it, but they have good looks!" Paimon explained, convincing the Outlander to confess their feelings already. "You never know one of her admirers married her already!" (jinx.)

(Name) chuckled nervously, "Alright. You two calm down," she told them. "We still need the borrow the Cleansing Bell from Madame Ping."

After leaving Zhongli alone, he sent them to borrow the Cleansing Bell from an old friend. (Name), unaware of the disguised adeptus, didn't know who Madame Ping was. Her companions and herself went to Yujing Terrace...

"The Millelith aren't arresting us. Cool," Paimon whispered when they passed a soldier. He was glaring at them—well, mostly at (Name), "They're so scary. They're freaking Paimon out!" She shrieked silently, hugging the arm of the Traveler.

(Name) huffed before gently pushing them forward, avoiding the soldier, "Let's keep moving. We can't trust the Qixing even though they stopped pursuing us," she warned them. "I'm aware they still have other ulterior motives hiding under their sleeves."
