chapter fifty-nine: “pillar of fortitude.”

• almost forgot to update, ehe.

quick note: Ei and (Name) don't have the "love and first sight then marry" trope. They have the "enemies (one-sided) to lovers".

— (FLASHBACK)

“UM... EI, I HAVE A BAD PAST WITH CLAYMORES...”

(NAME) CONFESSED, struggling with how to handle the claymore. It wasn't that heavy, but it was hard to control the weight and how swing it properly. Ei paid no mind to her "useless" babbles and withdrew her weapon, ready to attack her opponent...

"That isn't my problem, (Name). Now focus before I hit you straight in the face again," Ei demanded. "I want you to learn how to handle it as we duel against each other."

"Alright then. Don't blame me if I damaged something..."

In just a blink of an eye, Ei was already in front of her with her polearm near (Name)'s face. The strike wasn't that harsh, but the polearm almost broke from the impact (since she used it to shield her). The twin of the electro archon can control her attacks, avoiding damaging Tenshukaku's ground...

"I told you to fight back," the purple-headed woman snapped, annoyed by how the other was only using defensive attacks. "Just swing the claymore to me and use two hands on it."

"Yes, yes! Understood," the other sighed.

Because of Ei's instructions, (Name) did manage to hit her at what cost? The claymore flew out of Tenshukaku, creating a large hole. The samurais and servants outside peeked from outside as the two goddesses watched the weapon hit the statue, slicing the head...

"I told you..." (Name) sighed, watching as Makoto check the fallen statue fragment. "I'm sorry, Makoto!!!"

"That was a bad idea," Ei also sighed as she returned to her room. "You fixed what you damaged. I'll kick your ass later..." She threatened.

     "Yes, Ma'am."

— (END)

Yae snorted, noticing (Name) looking at the statue. "I still remember the time you broke that statue and everyone was looking at you and Ei. That memory never fails to make me laugh," she reminded. "Dear me. Good thing you were a goddess or it'll take time to fix the damage you've caused."

"Oh, please. Don't remind me of that again," (Name) grumbled as she fastened her walk to avoid that memory. "Let's just go."
