"What do you mean next lesson?" She asked timidly as she sat down on the edge of the bed after seeing Jake pull out his desk chair and sit down.

"About men."

"I thought these were kissing classes." She couldn't help but joke as he shook his head.

"Yeah, but this is a side note."

"Okay..."

"There's men, and then, there's scum."

"I knew that."

"Yes. But you need to know how to differentiate the men and the scum." Jake explained raising one hand and then the other for dramatization as he raised his eyebrows making her cross her arms in amusement.

"Okay. How do I differentiate the men from the scum?"

Jake stood up as he paced like the teacher he is, making Deva almost smile in amusement as she found his seriousness a little funny.

He had to have been a little tipsy.

"Did you go on a date with him?" He asked making her nod her head. "How many dates have you had?"

"Just one."

"Just one." He repeated as he nodded his head. "And did he kiss you on that date?"

"He did but-"

"There is no 'but'. A man doesn't kiss his date on the first night he goes out with them. If he really wants to date you, he will ask you questions about yourself first, he will want to get to know you. Now, the scum are the ones that instantly go for the lips, the jaw or the neck. Trust me, I know. Did he go for the neck?"

"Th-the jaw-"

"The jaw. See? A man, at least a street smart one, one that you've only gone on one date with, will not offer you his own drink that he had not taken even a sip of, and will instead make you one, right in front of your eyes, so that you can see the content that goes in it. It builds trust. Are you seeing the differences now?"

"I guess so-"

"Okay, quiz time then. Which one is Charles? And I won't allow wrong answers."

"Scum?"

"Exactly." He snapped his fingers as she slowly nodded her head as if she didn't already know this information.

"So, what does this lesson have to do with kissing?" She questioned as she watched him roll his chair towards her and sit down in front of her.

"Don't ever kiss scum. Don't do anything with scum. They don't deserve something as precious as your time, Dev." Jake advised softly.

Deva looked down at her hands for a moment before looking at Jake.

"I just felt like I had to experience it at least once."

"Experience what? Kissing someone?"

"That and....messing up. I wanted to be dumb for a few seconds, see what it felt like." She said jokingly making Jake shake his head in amusement. "Shouldn't you be out at your birthday party?"

"Are you joking? The party's better in here." He said as he crossed his arms.

"That's true."

Jake seemed to be in thought for a few seconds, before he rolled the chair even closer to Deva, making her eyes widen a little.

He carefully grabbed her hands and placed them on his face, before he did the same to her.

Jake studied her features, making Deva slightly nervous.
