Deva awkwardly stood outside of the dorms with Charles as she furrowed her eyebrows.

She didn't really want him in the room.

What if he judged it?

What if her roommate had come in with her stinky feet again and left the smell in the room?

She took in a small breath, before turning to Charles with a small smile.

"Welcome in." She said softly as she opened the door, gesturing for him to come inside the room.

Charles walked in with a smile as he looked around the room with curiosity.

"Let me guess, that one is your bed?" He said as he pointed at the bed with the dark blue covers.

Deva awkwardly shook her head as she let out a small breathy laugh.

"No, it's the pink one actually."

"Oh, pink. I didn't think of you as a pink girl. It's kind of cute."

"Yeah." Deva quietly said as she crossed her arms over her chest, not knowing what exactly she needed to do now. "Do you want a drink or something?"

"No, it's fine... What does Jake normally do in here?"

Deva quickly looked at him, before shrugging her shoulders.

She looked over at the bed as she remembered Jake laying there. He had slept there three times already.

"We usually just study. Sometimes we watch a movie, and then he leaves." She said quickly as she uncrossed her arms to pretend to move one of the books on her desk. "You want to do the same things as him? Are you competing?" She couldn't help but chuckle quietly, but Charles didn't seem to find it funny.

"I don't know if we are going to have to compete."

"Compete for what?"

"You."

Deva fell silent as she looked away from him with slightly raised eyebrows.

"Me?"

"Yeah. You."

"Why?"

She obliviously looked at him, making him smile slightly before reaching for her hand.

Deva stared at his hand for a few seconds, before grabbing it.

"You're beautiful, and Jake seems to notice that too."

He does?

"We're just friends though." She almost whispered as he inched closer to her.

"Really?"

"Yeah. I don't- I don't see Jake that way." Deva almost stuttered as Charles' hand made its way to her waist.

He didn't say anything as he continued to get closer.

Deva started regretting bringing him into the room, because now she doesn't know what to do, but all he did was place a soft kiss on her cheek before pulling away.

She let out a small breath of relief before turning to look at the TV.

Deva didn't know why, but Charles' presence made her so nervous that she didn't really know how to think straight. She felt as if her mother was watching her every move and waiting for her to mess up like she always did.

"We could watch a movie if you want?" She suggested as she sat down on the bed, before looking around for the remote.

"Sure."
