"You guys were together last night?" Charles questioned making Deva's eyes widen.

"Yes, but we were studying. Don't worry about it." Jake said as he waved his hand around with a small smile.

"You guys study together a lot. What classes do you have together?" He asked curiously, making Jake raise his eyebrows.

"Well, we have... human anatomy."

Deva contained the urge to slap her own forehead at Jake's response as she nodded her head with her eyes closed.

"Yeah. With Ms. Potter." She continued the idea as she grabbed some of her drink as she closed the book in front of her.

"I thought we were going to finish it together?" Jake questioned as he grabbed the book from her hand.

"W-well, I thought I would finish it first." She stuttered quietly as she felt her ears get warm.

"How about tonight?"

"I-"

"She can't tonight. She has a date with me." Charles said proudly as Jake raised his eyebrows with a small smile.

"Oh. Where are you taking her?"

"To my apartment."

"Oh?" Jake said a little louder as he turned his head towards Deva with raised eyebrows.

She gave him a sheepish smile and slightly bit the inside of her cheek out of nerves.

"Cool."

Was all he said as he turned to Charles with a smile that did not reach his eyes.

"Yeah. Cool." She said under her breath as she looked down at her hands.

"Don't worry about my roommate. He's not here for the night."

That was intended to comfort her, but it somehow just made her terrified.

She had been in a room alone with Jake, but he was different, compared to Charles.

Deva gave Charles a small smile as she went inside the apartment, tightening her coat around her.

She had decided to dress casually as this was only going to be a date with just the two of them, not somewhere else.

She looked around, quickly finding the dinner table already set for the two of them. There were candles set up around the apartment in the table, giving the room a romantic lighting.

It smelled nice, it was the mixture of air freshener and vanilla.

He prepared well.

She blinked as she felt his hand against her lower back, leading her towards the table.

"Here you go."

"You really made this?"

"Mhm." He answered with a smile as she nodded her head.

"Cool."

She felt her phone buzz in her jacket pocket, making her fidget, wondering if she should even check it.

It's probably rude to-

Before her thoughts could even finish, Charles pulled out his own phone.

Deva quickly took the chance and looked at the screen in wonder.

{: Dev, make sure you locate your exits and have me on speed dial..}
