A knock at the door made Deva wake up from her nap and she let out a groan, standing up to open the door."You need to stop forgetting your damn key." She said barely opening her eyes as she opened the door.
But her gaze met Jake's.
"Hey."
"Hey. What are you doing here?"
"Will you let me in?"
Deva stayed silent for a few seconds before letting him inside and closing the door behind him.
She walked towards her bed and laid down again, looking at him as he awkwardly stood there.
"Are you mad at me?" He questioned softly as he sat at her desk chair.
"Why would I be mad at you?"
"I don't know. You're just acting weird around me today. You didn't go to the cafeteria, and then I didn't see you in the library. It felt like you were avoiding me. What did I do?"
Deva shook her head as she gave him a half smile.
"Nothing. You didn't do anything."
"Is it because I didn't invite you to the party? You didn't really like the last one so I thought you wouldn't want to-"
"No, it's not the party."
Jake stayed quiet for another few seconds as he spun in her chair.
"Was it the kisses? Did they make you uncomfortable?"
"No, did they make you uncomfortable?" She couldn't help but question as she stared at her hands.
"Of course not. Why would they?"
"I don't know. Don't mind that, it was a stupid question." She whispered softly as she played with the chipped paint on her nails.
Jake stopped spinning in the chair as he turned to look at her.
He stood up and walked towards her making her look up at him from the bed.
"Why is it so cold in here?"
"The window was open."
She watched him kick off his boots, before lifting the blanket to lay down next to her.
Jake stared at the ceiling just as she was doing, before turning his head to look at her.
"Are you sure you're okay?"
Deva stayed quiet as she still wasn't sure why she was so bothered. Just because he didn't show to their meeting at the library? He probably forgot and that's okay.
Was it because he had a party and didn't invite her? She wouldn't have agreed to go anyways.
What makes me think I can be angry at him?
Deva's chest rose and fell at a calm pace as he stared at the side of her face, waiting for an answer.
Is it that girl?
"I'm fine." She replied honestly, before looking at him. "How was the party?"
"It was boring. It ended up being more of my roommates' party than my own, I went inside my room and tried to sleep." He shook his head as he ran a hand over his eyes.
Deva hummed as she turned her gaze back to the ceiling.
"Did you see Charles there?"
Jake scoffed before letting out a fake laugh.
"I didn't invite him. Of course, he wasn't there. I wouldn't have let him in."
Deva furrowed her eyebrows before turning on her side to look at him.
