Jake paced in the hall as there was only ten minutes before he had to go inside and take his Math test that he was completely sure he was going to flunk.

But that wasn't what was on his mind.

Deva walking away from him so easily seemed to be something he couldn't stop thinking about.

She doesn't like you that way, you should accept it...

He kept telling himself as he shook his head, but there was something that wasn't letting him take that as a fact.

He had a feeling he knew what it was.

"Jake."

Someone called out to him, making him look up from the ground.

Deva walked towards him with a small smile as she held her coffee cup in her hand.

"What are you doing out here? Don't you have that test?"

"I am mentally preparing Dev, you're interrupting." He joked as he crossed his arms over his chest.

Deva smiled in amusement as she shook her head.

"You know, stalling it is going to make things worse. You should just go for it." She comforted as she gestured for the door behind him, but Jake didn't focus on that.

Her advice when in through one ear and stored in another part of the brain that was not what it was intended for.

That seemed to happen often with Deva's words.

"Go for it huh?"

"Yeah. If you fail, you can just try to retake it. And if you can't retake it, well.... there's nothing to lose, right? It's just a class." Deva shrugged as Jake nodded his head with a smirk.

"Okay, I'll go for it then." He whispered under his breath as he stared into her eyes, making her nervously look away.

"Go inside then." She giggled quietly as Jake nodded his head again, and turned to go in the classroom, but Deva stopped him.  "I won't be here over the weekend; I'm staying at my aunt's until Sunday night. Just thought I'd let you know."

"Why?" He chuckled softly as he watched in endearment as she shyly took her grip away from his wrist.

"You know, just in case we have... study session. And I probably won't be in today's afternoon class, so can you send me your notes?"

Jake smiled softly, before placing a soft peck on Deva's forehead.

"You can't just skip my class Miss. I'll need an excuse form signed by your parents within the next day. Also, 20 dollars for the notes or no deal."

She rolled her eyes before softly pushing him towards the classroom as he laughed.

Deva sat on a bench outside of the dorms, waiting for her aunt to pick her up to spend the weekend at home.

It had been almost 4 months since she had gone back home, and she liked it that way, so you could say she wasn't very happy to go back.

Even if her roommate was smelly and sometimes didn't care about her sleeping schedule, she was completely okay with it as long as she didn't have to go back home to her aunt.

Her aunt was a lovely person, her husband and kids were too, but Deva always felt out of place living with them.

She had moved in when she was 14 after her father had an affair and her parents got a divorce.
