Now it's been a few months since Joel's death, it's been a difficult time to live with the conscience that he died with the thought that I hate him.

During this time my girlfriend Dina helped me through this, its already hard with this whole fucking apocalypse stuff

"God hurry! I want to have something to eat tonight and don't end up as a infected one." said Dina as she pulls me out of my thoughts and pulled me by my hand

"calm dow-" I couldn't finish as i stumbled and fell onto Dina

"fuck" i mumble as i look at her and shake my head chucklend

"really? You want to do it here?" she asks as she pushed me slightly away, as i sit down besides her
we burst out laughing, Dina sits up and start looking behind me

"what?" i look at her confused

"there is blood" she keeps looking behind me

"no shit sherlock everywhere is blood?"

"yeah, but i'm sure there is someone" she gets up, walks to the trail of blood i stand behind her as we both see a body laying there

"wait, what if its infected?" i look at her as she turns the body so we can see the face

"oh shit" the girl breaths heavy but she seems unconscious "she is injured, look at her neck" I look at the wound, it looks like the puls artery was just missed, dina starts ripping a piece of her shirt as she looked at me

"can you give me some of the bandage?" i nod as i pulled some out of my bag and hand it to her, she begins to bandage the girl's neck

"so when you finished we can go right?"

"well no? we take her with us it looks like she isn't infected so? we can't leave her just like that, obviously she needs help" i look at the girl and let a sigh out

"otherwise she will die, ellie.. please?" she looks at me with so much pity for this girl

"i don't trust this, everywhere is fresh blood right? right. well but the only one who is bleeding is her and it can't be possible that she bleeds so much?"

"it can be possible" dina says

"oh come on" i say as i roll my eyes "its just weird, we are still after abby and now all of a sudden we are finding this girl laying here in blood coverd? and this cut looks too professional"

"god ellie, you being paranoid how can a cut on the neck look professional?? you can't be serious, so you think this girl has to do something with abby? thats pathetic! and now help me to get her up please?" she lifted the girl so that I could take the other shoulder

"she looks like she is already dying and you think we can help, but alright just get her already to our shelter and try to wake her up" We both carried her through the forest i guess it took 2 hours 'til we arrived at our shelter it already got darker, so we tried to get in quickly,
and instead we had something to eat we found a girl

"soo what are we gonna do now without any food but a half dead girl?"

"i guess now we can try to wake her up and find out who she is?" she says that with a soft smile

"mhm alright" as i say this dina and i lean over the girl try to wake her up, slowly starts moving as suddenly she open her eyes, we helped her to sit up

"I-" she puts her hand around her neck she looks confused her eyes start tearing up

"can you talk?" Dina looks at her with much hope in her eyes

"who are you? where do you came from and what were you doing in the middle of nowhere?" i ask as i gave her a serious look, dina tells me clam down but i won't clam down if i don't get my answers

"so again, can you talk?" she shrug her shoulders
"come on try" i say

"wait" dina says and gave her some water she quickly drank all at once

"first of who are you?" the girl asks with a raspy voice

"well-" before i could finish my sentence dina already did

"i'm dina and this is my girlfriend ellie" first dina points at herself then me i gave her a little push against her shoulder while chuckling

"i'm valerie, nice to meet you two i guess?"
