"just come after me you'll see" i say with a surprising softer voice

"mhm alright, but can i have one of your hunting weapons? like the bow you have there?" i don't say a word i just hand it to her

"soo no hateful look towards me anymore?" she asks as we keep walking i still don't say a word suddenly i hear something and pull valerie down by her wrist

"stay down." i still hold her

"what is going on?"

"there look" i point at a clicker

"oh fuck" she says she seems like she's panicking

"clam down, have you ever fought with one? because you look like you didn't"

"yes of course, i don't know myself why i am scared sorry" she says while looking at me

"uhm its okay don't worry, we have to be quiet now." i guess its pretty obvious i don't know how to react we sit there for a while just in silence 'til she looks like she wanna say something

"well why do you hate me since the beginning i don't get it ellie" as i hear her saying 𝒎𝒚 name lets me feel something its a weird feeling
i don't wanna feel like that
but the corner of my mouth slowly moves upwards and forms a smile

"well like i said i don't trust you and maybe i can learn to trust you and maybe i was even being paranoid"

"why paranoid?" she asks

"the thing with abby, you know? she well eh- she killed joel he was like a dad to me and now we are after her to take revenge
i thought you were one of her people who is after 𝒖𝒔 and you gonna kill my loved ones for abby and god yes that is stupid and so paranoid

i shake my head as i realize what i just told her

"that's the only thing you say? fuck that" i look at her disappointed
"i regret telling you this" i put my hands before my face while i mumble some stuff to myself how stupid i am

"no i- ellie" it sounds like she doesn't get to say a whole sentence
but i feel something warm around me

"shh" she keeps holding me in a warm hug and i suddenly felt tears in my eyes

i push her away as i rub my eyes

"we- we have to shoot something come on" i get up
and pull out my bow and arrow
i just start walking deeper into the woods
ofcourse with valerie

"ellie" she whispers
"there look a deer.." i look in the direction of the deer and shoot it

"fuck yeah!" valerie says in a voice of pure joy
she looks happy

"come on we have to go now its getting dark and we are already too deep into this forest"
i get the deer and hang it over my shoulder, I started walking back when I realized valerie wasn't behind me

"valerie?-" i walk back to the place where we were
as i arrive i see valerie surrounded by clickers

"fucking hell" i pull out my weapon and start shooting at all of them i see her fighting against them with the bowie i gave her

"get here, behind me now." she immediately were running behind me
now we stand back to back together

"aim at the head or jaw its one of the best ways to kill them"

"i'll try" she says she sounds so panicking
i have to clam her down so i took valeries hand and try to keep shooting

and finally we did it
we started running as fast as we could while i was still holding her hand

"wait ellie- i can't keep running like this" i stop and sees she is breathing heavily

"you okay?" i ask as she start shaking her head while putting her hand around her neck

"shit- is it bleeding again?" this time i'm the one whos ripping some piece of my shirt of and starts wrapping it around

"thank you.. i just need a little break give me a few secounds" she says quietly she sits down in the middle of grass

i only nod and sit down next to her i consider to be quiet and just say nothing
now i think about the feeling i have around her
what is that?

"ellie?" suddenly i got pulled out of my thoughts

"huh?- eh yeah?" i say confused

"well question"

"mhh?"

"i- uhmm i think you are actually pretty nice and i understand why you didn't trust me" i look at her in amazement

"me nice? you know what you saying right? i could never be nice i hurt everyone who i love and they still stay and now a girl who know me like for 2 days? says i'm nice woah" i chuckle as i thought about the fact someone actually thinks i'm nice

"yeah exactly that girl thinks that" she gave me a warm smile
"and thank you for saving me."

"anytime again. but now i have a question, are you okay, did you got bitten?"

"no i was careful and you also took care of the both of us" valerie looks down and up at her body

"alright if you need anything ask me or dina alright? now lets go we have get back to dina"

I get the deer and then we slowly go back to Dina on the way we talk about different stuff, we even tell eachother jokes

as we arrived Dina was already waiting she seems very worried she looks up at us

"finally what took you so goddamn long?" she asks

"well a few clickers got in our way, at least we something for tommy and jesse soo we are ready for tomorrow."
i look at valerie with a soft smile

"ohh sooo the war between you two is over? finally!" she says with a laughter

"yeah i guess so, we get on well together"

"yes we actually do" she says that with such an lovely voice
valeries smile mesmerize me

i still have a bad feeling.
