Notes
Hi babes. It's been a loooong time since I've done a Oneshot. I've been obsessed over Liz soft launching her diagnosed/undiagnosed medicated/unmedicated ADHD in that podcast episode so this fic materialised itself. In love with how comfortable she must have felt to openly admit that, especially when she doesn't share too much about herself. It means more than she knows to so many neurodivergent people. ANYWAY. If there are any requests, about ADHD, about life, about anything for any of my books, hmu. Enjoy :)

"We're not arguing about money, Michael." Liz groaned, closing the laundry room door a little more aggressively than she'd meant to.

The couple had been back and forth about this for a week or so, with Liz claiming there was no issue. But when updated forms came through their inboxes from the bank, she couldn't ignore it any longer.

"We don't have to argue. We just need to talk about it a bit." Michael said, trying hard to keep his patience.

"No." Was all she said next, walking to the kitchen, dogs trailing behind her.

"C'mon Liz. Why are you being stubborn about it?" Michael sighed, feeling a little tired of her blatant refusal to work with him on this.

"I'm not!" She snapped, turning on her heels abruptly to face him. "But I have someone who handles it for me, why do I need to sit and discuss finances with you?"

"Because it's important. We've got these new forms to fill out from the bank and it will only take twenty minutes." Michael told her for what must have been the thirtieth time in those past six days.

And he was growing exhausted of repeating himself.

"You do it." Liz rolled her eyes, full of attitude when she spun back around, hair flipping as she continued towards the kitchen, now storming her way there.

"No, Liz. Why are you making this so damn difficult?" Michael huffed lowly, pinching the bridge of his nose.

Michael was a placid man. Kind, gentle, patient. He kept his cool in the toughest of situations and managed to ground Liz when she lost herself in overwhelm. But the way she was behaving over such a minute task was seriously testing him.

"I need you to have a part in it too." He said calmly after taking a breath.

Only to be met with another wave of the storm she was brewing.

"Oh my god, stop!" Liz groaned, the bothered sound drawing out of her mouth as her whole body bent forwards in a dramatic move. "I'm not doing it."

They stood opposite each other now, arguing over the kitchen island which Liz was hitting in rhythm to her heartbeat. She was struggling to regulate herself and it was evident in the way she was handling the situation, (or, more aptly, wasn't handling it).

"You are being unbelievable right now. It's not like I'm asking you to do something unreasonable here, Liz. Yet you're acting like I've asked something impossible of you." Michael ranted, careful to keep his tone respectful. "I am asking you to-"

"I know what you're asking me! And I don't want to do it!" She was becoming rude and that was something Michael could never tolerate from her; and a part of him snapped, too.

"Just because you don't understand money, Elizabeth, that doesn't mean-"

"Fucking excuse me?!" Liz yelled, and Michael could feel the rage seething out of her.

Oh shit.

"No, no, I just meant-" he quickly tried to make up for it, only to be interrupted again.
