The pregnancy hadn't exactly been what Liz was expecting. She wanted a soft glow, a small bump and the occasional few happy tears. Unfortunately, none of those things seemed to have happened.
"I said, stop touching me!"
"Michael, I want some mashed potatoes with little gummy bears."
"Move, I have to pee!"
"I love you so much, Michael."
"Can you not breathe, please."
The morning up until now had been a bit of a rollercoaster already. Michael suggested they continued decorating the nursery and that's exactly what they did.
"So, when are you planning to announce this pregnancy?" Michael asked as she stuck the glow in the dark stars to the wall.
"I already have." Liz frowned in confusion.
"Not to family. I mean publicly." Michael said.
"I'm not." Liz said shortly.
"You're not going to announce it?" He asked.
"At some point, sure. But not yet." Liz shrugged.
"Your fans will get suspicious soon, Liz. There's only so many photos you can post from the chest up before you're facing rumours." Michael chuckled.
"Nah. I've denied every speculation up to now and I'll keep doing it until our kid is 21." Liz patted her baby bump.
"Whatever you want, babe." Michael gently grabbed her arm and pulled her to him for a kiss.
"What is want... is you... to hang up those clothes." Liz smirked against his lips.
"Such a tease." Michael shook his head and laughed.
"It's not my fault that I can't reach the top shelf in the closet. You won't let me stand on the step ladder." Liz pouted.
"Damn right. We're not risking anything. I know what your balance is like when you're not pregnant; god knows what you'd be like with that big bump." Michael laughed teasingly, kissing her nose.
"My balance? Bitch please." Liz snickered, tidying up the pairs of baby shoes in the closet.
Michael placed the folded clothes onto the higher shelves in the closet like she had asked him to do. He was placing a pair of tiny jeans at the front when Liz spoke up.
"You're gonna be such a good dad." Liz said softly.
"That's so sweet, Liz. And you're going to be a wonderful mom." He smiled, then heard her sniffling. "Why are you crying?"
"B-because you're so a-amazing. And our baby is really l-lucky." Liz sobbed into the sleeves of her sweater.
"Oh, honey. Liz." Michael laughed, stepping down the ladder and hugging her.
"You're gonna be great. And you're gonna be so good at all the things I won't be good at. Like math." Liz cried into his shoulder.
"Babe, we're gonna be awesome parents. We make a great team for everything else." Michael whispered into her curly hair.
"I know. I love you." Liz wiped her eyes on his T-shirt.
"I love you too." Michael tilted her chin up and kissed her softly.
"Can we carry on decorating?" Liz murmured, staring into his eyes.
"Of course." Michael nodded.
"I want to put these books on the shelf." Liz said, ordering the picture books in alphabetical order.
