Chapter 24
*Live Show 4*
*Saturday*
Megan’s P.O.V:
I was exhausted this morning. Getting up so early most mornings and staying up pretty late was getting to me. I headed to the studios and ate some sugary foods to give me some energy. My sound check with T wasn’t until after lunch so I practised my routine and my song in my dressing room before going to the canteen.
I walked onto the stage and took my place. The auditorium was dark and empty apart from Jahmene, Josh, George and Kye sitting a few rows back. The backing track began and I started to sing. I had finished the song and I was breathing hard. It was tough trying to sing and dance at the same time, even though I had been practising all week.
“Girl, you can dance!” T grinned. “Now Megan, I have something very serious to talk to you about” T frowned. I thought she was going to mention Carolynn, I hoped she wouldn’t at the moment we were being filmed for bits to add to my VT. “Someone seemed to forget to tell me it was their birthday last Saturday” T grinned. I let out a breath I didn’t realise I was holding. I grinned back. “Well, I didn’t think it was that important?” I said, but it came out like more of a question. “Of course it’s important! Happy Birthday Megs” T enveloped me in a huge hug. We continued practising for tonight. I headed back to my dressing room for a rest. T knocked on the door and came in. “Here you go, a little something from me” T grinned. She handed me a small wrapped box. “T, you shouldn’t have, this is why I told nobody, until I was forced to or I would be tickled to death by the other contestants” I smiled. “I’m glad you’re getting to know everyone better” T smiled. I opened the box; inside there was a beautiful Pandora bracelet. “OMG, T, it’s beautiful, these are so expensive, you shouldn’t have” I gushed. “It’s no problem Megan, listen, I need to speak to you about something else” T frowned. I knew it was going to be about Carolynn. I sighed. “The producers have found out about Carolynn and want to press charges. Do you know who told them?” T asked. “She was badmouthing me in an interview. I got pretty upset about it. The Union J boys were there when I watched the interview; they got pretty thick and told the producers.” I sighed. “I didn’t want them too, but I couldn’t stop them” I continued. T had a grin on her face. “Sorry, Megs, I shouldn’t be smiling, but you said ‘they got pretty thick’, does thick not mean stupid?” I understood why she was confused. “Sorry, I keep forgetting to not use Irish slang” I smiled sheepishly. “Look, if you don’t want producers to press charges, I can talk to them, but if she ever comes near you, you have to promise me that you’ll tell me, okay?” T said, concerned. I nodded “I promise”. “Good,” T grinned. “I never knew you could dance, you’re amazing! You’re gonna smash it tonight; everyone is going to get such a surprise!” T gushed. “Thanks T, for everything!” I smiled. “I’m here if you ever need me” T replied and stood up to leave.
I decided I would ring the guys back home. I dialled Carole’s number and waited. She picked up after three rings.
Carole: Megan! How are you?
Me: Good, good. How is everyone?
Carole: They’re all great! I’ll just call them in now. *shouts* Helpers.
Everyone: Hey Megan.
Me: Hey guys, how’s it going?
Bella: Great. We jumped in our lesson today and I jumped a grid with the last jump at a metre. Angel was the best.
Me: Bella, that’s fab! Well done. Anything else exciting happen today?
Jade: Not really. I’m going hunting tomorrow with Carole! I’m so excited.
