Chapter 41
*The Next Day*
Megan’s P.O.V
I dragged myself out of bed this morning at 8:30; I had a meeting with Simon in an hour. Today I was going to meet my manager, who was employed by Simon and we would be discussing my album and what I would be doing for the rest of the month before the tour. I got showered and dressed. I put on light denim jeans, a cream lace top with ¾ length sleeves and a black leather jacket. I did my make-up next, just putting on a light amount of foundation, concealer, blush, mascara and eyeliner. I brushed my hair out and decided to leave it long and natural. I shoved my phone and some money into my pockets before pulling on a pair of flat ankle boots and washing my teeth.
Feeling a bit fresher and relaxed, I got a taxi to the studios to meet up with Simon, I was 10 minutes early. As I sat down in the posh seating area on the white leather couches, I saw One Direction come out of the lift. They all immediately waved at me. I smiled. “Hey Megan, hows it going?” Niall smiled. “Great lads, hows prep for the tour going?” I replied. “Good, were so pumped, were just trying to find some support acts now” Liam smiled. “You got a meeting with Uncle Si?” Louis asked. I gulped and nodded, I was still nervous around someone who could change my career at a drop of a penny. “He’s in a good mood this morning” Louis smiled. The lady who showed me to Simon’s office called me upstairs, I left One Direction with a chorus of ‘goodbyes’ and ‘see ya later’s’.
As I walked into Simon’s posh, crisp, clean office, I could smell the heavenly scent of leather. Simon was sat on the couch, when he saw me; he stood up and welcomed me with a hug. “Hi Simon” I smiled. “Megan! How are you?” he exclaimed. “Great, it was amazing to go home and spend Christmas with the family, pretty excited about the next couple of months though.” I replied. “Well, that’s good news, I love your enthusiasm! I have two choices with you for your album Megan. I think I know which one I would prefer, but the decision is down to you.” Simon paused. I nodded. “If you want, we could get the album out as quickly as possible, I have songwriters that have some songs already written, that we could use. The other option is that we take our time, and you could write the album, I would of course get some co-writers to help you.” Simon finished. “I haven’t really written songs before, but I think I would prefer if I wrote the album” I stated. Simon’s smile grew even wider “Perfect, I think it would be good. It would make the album better and it would give you a chance to find your sound”.
We discussed the fact that I would be doing several gigs is the evenings, after the x factor tour rehearsals. “Now, I have picked a member of my team to be your personal manager, she will organise your gigs and interviews and all that kind of thing, she will also travel with you to your gigs etcetera.” Simon stated. After he finished talking, a young woman, who looked like she was in her thirties, walked into the room. Her strawberry blonde hair tumbled around her shoulders in big bouncy curls. She was dressed in a pair of dark bootleg jeans, brown heels and a floral top and a red cardigan. “Hi, I’m Cathy” she smiled and outstretched her hand. I took her hand and shook it “I’m Megan” I smiled in return. I sat in Simon’s office spending time getting to know Cathy and discussing the various places I would be playing gigs at. For these gigs, I had to sing some of the songs I did on the x factor, I was more than pleased with this, I loved most of the songs I did on the show.
I left the offices with Cathy, we were given a car, and I had a few interviews to do with magazines. I wasn’t needed that much for magazine interviews because they wanted to boy bands that teenage girls could drool over.
*Two Weeks Later*
I have been so busy the last two weeks; I have been doing endless gigs and interviews. I enjoyed the buzz of doing gigs in small places. I usually asked for them to put their phones in the air for a slow song and it looked breath taking from the stage. I still wasn’t fond of interviews and photo shoots because I am still quite a shy and private person, but I love getting my make-up done. But, the best part has got to be getting free clothes from the photo shoots.
