Chapter 7:

*on the way to boot camp*

Jade’s P.O.V

I was over the moon when Megs got through to boot camp, the first thing I said to her when she got off stage was “I told you so” we both giggled and made our way home. That was two weeks ago, for the past two weeks we have been helping Aimee on her yard, it’s been so much fun. Although, this afternoon Megs gets her train to Liverpool for boot camp. I know it’s only for four days but I’m gonna miss her so much.

It was about 8 o clock, the feeding was done. Me & Megs went into the house to get washed and changed. Me & Aimee were seeing her off at the train station at 9. We got showered and dressed. I was wearing jeans, converse and a red knitted jumper; I threw my hair up into a messy bun a usual and wore minimal make-up. Megan wore black leggings and stripy top and her vans, she too had her hair in a messy bun and had minimal make-up on. We said our final goodbyes and good lucks as Megan headed towards her train. Me & Aimee headed back to the yard to start the mucking out.

Megan’s P.O.V:

I hopped on the train, I was really nervous because I never really traveled on my own much, and because this was my big chance and I didn’t want to mess it up. I slipped into a seat beside a window and put my small suitcase underneath my chair. I got my phone out, plugged in my earphones and listened to some music. The train journey took an hour and a half but the time passed quickly when I was listening to my music.

When we arrived at Liverpool, I didn’t have a clue where to go, I was told by the x factor producers that I was staying in a hotel. Where was the sheet of paper with the name if the hotel on it? Found it! I called for a taxi and went straight to the hotel. By the time I got checked in and up to my room it was 11 o clock. We had to go to the arena down the road at half 12. There were two single beds in the room; I put my bags on the empty one. My roomie hadn’t arrived yet. About twenty minutes later, the room door opens and this girl called Leah walks in. I introduced myself after Leah put her bags down. She was extremely pretty, had a lovely slim figure and a good sense of style, she was 18 and from Manchester. She seemed quite nice. At half 12 we both headed down to the lobby and over to the arena where boot camp would take place.

This arena was huge much bigger than the one where I auditioned in Birmingham. All the contestants were called on stage. Gary announced that half of us would be going home now and that the other half will then be set a challenge.

First of all the groups category were called up. It was sickening to see them all being rejected without having the chance to perform, ‘That will probably be me in the next hour’ I thought. Next up was the overs; again it was horrible to see a lot of them being rejected. Then the boys, someone of them were very emotional... Imagine your dreams being shattered at the drop of a penny. I could feel the knots begin to form in my stomach. I was definitely going home. Why would they want some small nobody from a village in the North-West of Ireland when they had all these amazing British singers? The girls were called on stage, I could feel my stomach doing somersaults, and I thought I was going to be sick. I didn’t realise until now how much I wanted this. They started to call out the names of the girls who were going home....
