Anko had never been faster than she was now. Her feet ached with how hard they landed on the ground but she didn't stop, she couldn't stop. He was there, right out of reach. Luna was right. The thought made her faster, throwing her body forward as she leaped through the trees in the Forest of Death.

She eventually slowed, coming to a complete stop on one of the large sturdy branches of a tree, her scowl twisting on her face harshly. Orochimaru was practically one with the tree when she found him, upside down with more of a snake-like appearance than she remembered. Her lips curled into an amused smile that had Anko's stomach twisting.

"Anko... It's been a while, hasn't it?"

His voice was like poison to her, making her want to throw up every little thing she ate, but she settled for a snarl.

"Reminiscing now? In the middle of Shinobi territory when you're the top wanted rouge in the Five Great Nations?" Anko scoffed but Orochimaru looked unaffected by the venom in her voice. "You probably do think this is amusing. It does seem fitting that I'm the one who took the burden of taking you down."

Smaller versions of kunai's slid down in between her knuckles as she smiled like plastic. "After all, I did learn everything I know from you, Orochimaru-sensei."

Orochimaru smirked, unbothered. "Not quite everything."

Anko scoffed, reading her kunai's just as the sannin's tongue elongated from his mouth. She easily dodged the muscle's attack, her heels landing higher on the tree just as it shot up to grab her wrist. She hissed, the tongue pulled her back down where she rolled back to her feet.

"Striking Shadow Snake!" She chanted, snakes shooting from her sleeve and grappling Orochimaru's body through the wood.

"Come on out of there!" She growled, pulling her arm back and successfully ripping him from the tree and slamming him into another. The snakes traveled back into her sleeve, her other arm finally free as two of the kunai between her knuckles flew from her hand. They pinned themselves into the sannin's shoulders earning a groan of pain from him as Anko stood at a safe distance.

She took a deep breath before screaming out into the forest. "Come on out Orochimaru! A substitution jutsu won't entertain me for long!"

The forest stood still for what felt like hours before a dark chuckle joined the aftermath of Anko's shouts. Her body snapped to the poisonous sound, her scowl darkening even further as the real Orochimaru made his presence known. The dark laughter still rumbled his chest as he peeled the leftover skin of his skinsuit from his face.

"I see that the Brisa is finally using her privilege to her advantage. Maybe I shouldn't have given her so easily to Ezra." Orochimaru mused and for Anko, the whole world stopped.
