~"What are you doing here, Kabuto?" Luna grumbled as she approached her team. Knowing he was there gave her a headache. The said man smirked at her, his eyes crinkling.
"Ah, I was wondering where Ms. Cold-Shoulder was."
The brown-skinned girl sighed, not in the mood for any of his remarks. "And I was wondering where your little group was. Guess they ditched you."
"Actually, they're waiting for me at the tower as we speak," He corrected, patting a pouch on his thigh that looked like the shape of a scroll. "Something I was telling your teammates before you rudely interrupted."
"Then I guess you weren't spitting it out fast enough." Luna shrugged, her tone uninterested as she crossed her arms over her chest. Kabuto sighed to himself, deciding that arguing with her wasn't worth it. Something that had pride glowing in the Brisa's chest. The silver-haired boy turned back to the Uchiha who hadn't glanced at the girl the whole time.
"You all can travel with me if you want to. I certainly wouldn't mind, there's more strength in numbers anyways."
Luna almost choked. She itched to rip off her headband and give her team the hardest glare she could manifest. What the hell were they thinking? Was her hostility towards the man not enough for them to think 'Hey, maybe we should stay away from him'? She could almost see the smirk on the man's lips through his chakra and it made her anger ripple through her veins.
"Why would we travel with him?" Luna asked and she really wished her team could see her eyes so they could see just how mad she was at this decision. But her voice will have to do for now.
"Because not all of us are capable of fighting if we're attacked," Sasuke answered sharply and just as quickly.
The Brisa didn't need her eyes to see how targeted the insult was. She could feel his cold stare on the side of her head and it took everything in her not to snap at him. Instead, she prayed to whatever being sent her here for strength.
Sakura and Naruto shared a worried glance as Luna took in a deep breath. Her eyes hardened behind her headband but she pushed through her annoyance, making a point to ignore the Uchiha. She reluctantly glanced at the silver-haired ninja who seemed oddly smug.
"When are we leaving?" She asked, already done with the whole trip.
"Whenever you all are ready," Kabuto answered. "But I suggest we leave soon. I don't want to worry my teammates."
Sakura nodded in understanding. "Of course! We shouldn't worry them."
Kabuto sent her a smile while Luna sighed to herself. Her sword's hilt glowed with chakra in its sheath as she walked over to it, picking it up and strapping it on her back as she took in the last licks of warmth from the dying fire. Sasuke's eyes lingered on her before turning his attention to Kabuto whose eyes were stuck on the sword on her back.
