Sophia found herself sat at the table chatting away to Alex when Mason walked past towards the bar. He was wearing a black velvet suit, it clung to him like a glove, and she felt her mouth go dry.

"So, are you going to your parents for Christmas?" Alex asked which snapped Sophia back to the conversation.

"Yeah" she smiled "mum's invited both my sister's partners families, its turning into like a banquet" she laughed as she thought back to the way she had told her mum that she might not come because there would be that many people she wouldn't know if she was there at all.

"Geez, bet that's a lot" said Alex laughing.

"How about you two?" Sophia said, pointing towards Alex and at the bar where John was stood ordering some more drinks.

"Well, we are supposed to be having them all at ours" said Alex rolling her eyes, she thinks back to the last time they had all their family in the same room. It had only been in the summer at their wedding, which Sophia attended, and thought was the most beautiful wedding she had ever been to. She knew when their families got together it became very loud and she wasn't sure if she wanted to host it all, but John had said it was their first Christmas officially as The Stones, so they had to.

"My mum and dad are coming up in a couple of days to see some family members" said Alex thinking how her dad had said he wanted to have a 'proper northern Christmas' "and then they are actually going to stay with John's parents for a while before they all come to ours"

Alex can't help but feel her heart feel with warmth when she thinks of her and John's parents friendship. They were as inseparable as John and Alex were. "My sister and John's sister are meant to be coming too but just trying to work out if they are bringing anyone either"

Sophia laughs, seeing how Alex is so grown up, even though she was younger. Married to one of the best English defenders and holding dinner parties in her home. Whereas Sophia only owned 3 bowls and a small 2-person table in her house and the thought of hosting a dinner party was terrifying to her.

"I honestly just hope everyone has a nice time" admits Alex as she thinks about how she has been worrying herself about it all.

"Nice time when?" said John as he placed a sex on the beach cocktail in front of Alex making her giggle slightly as he sits down next to her, his hand upon the back of her neck massaging slightly.

"Christmas" she said turning to him, even with the time passed and the years spent maturing he was still the gorgeous teenager she fell in love with.

"I am sure everyone will because you my darling are amazing" he said as he kissed upon her nose.

Sophia felt butterflies in her own stomach at John's words, even though she was cynical about love, she did feel like she would love someone to love her the way John loves Alex.

"Get a room" said Mason as he sat down next to Sophia as John bursts out laughing "Sophia" he gestures his drink towards hers.

"Mason" she clinks her glass with him as Kyle heads over to talk to Alex and John "how have you been?" she asked, she found out just after the September camp that he had split up with his girlfriend and after seeing him walk around tonight like a lost puppy she thought he could use someone to talk to.

"Not bad" he remarked as he took a sip of his drink, he had chosen a vodka and lemonade, but he doesn't know why, it's not his usual drink choice but he wanted something strong to help him block out all the lovey dovey couples "How about you?"

"Yeah not bad" she laughed as she mimicked his answer. His eyes looking at her as they exchange some small talk about the season so far, their Christmas plans and also lightly touching on the other boys' partners, Mason giving Sophia the scoop on everyone.
