THIS IS A DOUBLE UPDATE - READ CHAPTER THIRTY-FIVE FIRST

Later on, that night when Mason got home he thought how he would go about things, he wasn't good with words but he also didn't know to deal with things that would make everything right.

He couldn't take back what he did, and he also didn't want to.

He would be lying if he said he didn't enjoy his night with Daisy, it was the best kind of release he could have asked for.

He didn't have to find some girl and work out whatever each other liked to have a mediocre time; they knew one another's bodies so well.

But he hated that he hadn't managed to tell Sophia himself, that he didn't get to tell her about what had happened, but a part of him wasn't sure if he would actually have the bottle to do so anyway.

He toyed with his options before deciding to bite the bullet, she could reject him, she could ignore him or she could give him the time to explain himself, hear him out, maybe make things right between them, or at least not have her hate him.

He clicked her name, pressing on the facetime logo and waited, hearing the sound, it played out for a while before it said connecting, he gulped down as he waited, feeling a panic wash over him before her face filled the screen, it was now or never.

Sophia wasn't sure she should answer when Mason's name flashed up on her phone. She wasn't sure what she could really say to him.

She had told him to not wait for her but at the same time she didn't like the idea of actually seeing him do as she said. It felt like such a contradiction in her head, he very rarely did as he was told when she was coaching him or even when she had asked for space in the past but this time he actually listened to her.

She see's his face on her screen and her heart flutters, she had hoped after hearing about him and Daisy that she would stop caring but if anything it made her want him more.

It made her want to fight for him and tell him that she still cared. It made her think of what her friends had said to her before that sometimes it takes something bad happen to make you realise that its what you want.

"Hey" she said with a small smile on her lips, not really knowing what to say.

"Hey Soph, you okay?" asks Mason, his voice wavering at the end as he doesn't know if that was the smartest question.

"Yeah not too bad, you?" she replies, keeping her emotions in check.

"Yeah I'm okay thanks" he replies as he looks over her face, god he's really missed her.

Before Sophia can answer Mason speaks "look I wanted to call you to apologise" he runs his hand over his jaw as he sits back on his sofa more "about what Liam and Ben said" he starts gauging her reaction but still she looks calm "I should have been the one to tell you about Daisy and I'm sorry about that"

Sophia listens to his words and that's when it dawns on her, he is obviously phoning because he is back with Daisy, that's why he seems so sheepish but she needs to suck it up before she gets off the phone from him.

"Its okay" she said with a smile "I'm happy for you both" she throws out there, trying not to sound bitter.

"No wait no" he replies, his frowns burrowing as he looks at her through the camera "we're not back together" he said "we just slept together that's all, nothing more"

Sophia draws in a deep breath "oh sorry, I just ..." she starts, not really sure how to end it but Mason speaks again.

"It meant nothing, like she is just a friend that's all" he replies back as she feels her cheeks flush slightly "It just kind of happened and I thought as you had moved on that maybe I shouldn't hold out and hope and then we just kind of.." he trails as Sophia cuts in.
