His ex-girlfriend and his new girlfriend sat on a table together.

He hadn't thought this through but of course they would hang out together, he knew Daisy and Alex were friends as such and obviously Alex and Sophia were close. He kind of wished the ground would swallow him up whole.

"Alright" he said towards the table before smiling at Daisy "alright Dais" he gave her a quick grin before looking towards Sophia "Soph I think Liam wanted to ask you something about this afternoon's session" he lies as she smirks at him.

"I'm on lunch Mase" she replies "but I'll quickly go and find him" she gets up from her seat "be back in 5" she smiles at the table before walking to go back towards Mason.

"I'll show you were he was" he said as he followed back out towards the double doors leading to the corridor to the training pitches.

Once the door has closed he follows her a little bit further, ducking into the stairwell to the left as she turns to look at him, before she can speak he starts.

"I'm so sorry baby" he starts "I forgot to tell you Dais was coming to work here this summer, I should've but I completely forgot, with everything that's been going on it slipped my mind, I'm so sorry" he kept saying as Sophia just smiled at him.

"Mase" she held her hand up to get him to stop "Its fine" she shrugged her shoulders "I was a little bit shellshocked to start with but its fine, just a heads up would have been nice" she said as he stepped closer to her, his hand reaching out to her hip as hers touched his.

"I know, I'm so sorry" he repeats "I hope it wasn't too awkward" he looks down into her green eyes.

"No it was fine" she replies "Alex introduced her to me, telling me who she was" she raised her brow to let him know that she had been told about him and her "and Daisy then told me about her and Dec, said you and her were best friends and if I needed her help to keep anyone in line she would happily do it" she smiled.

"That sounds like Dais" he smiles as Sophia wraps her arms around his waist.

"She seems really nice Mason, I can see why you and her are still friends" she said, she had wanted to say, she could see why they were once together but she didn't want to think about that right now, she didn't like bringing up the past "she was almost exactly how I imagined she'd be"

Mason smiles "you don't understand how happy that makes me" he leans down and kisses her lips lightly.

"Why?" Sophia said as she pulls back smiling at him.

"I was so worried you and Dais wouldn't get on and I mean I've only just sorted out one friend drama I would hate it if you guys didn't get along too" he admits, he knew it might sound weird but he knew Daisy would be around in his life, especially now she was with Dec, however he knew a lot of new girlfriend's wouldn't like the idea of an ex still being around.

"Don't worry yourself" she smiled up at him as she kissed his lips once more before stepping out of his grasp, hearing the distant sound of shoes somewhere in the corridor "everything is good with us" she whispers, before giving him a quick wink and heading back into the canteen.

As Friday night came around, the last proper Friday night that they would be able to enjoy before camp properly got underway the team had put on a little Mexican night, a healthy way of doing some kind of treat Mason thought as he headed into the large hall where the dinner tables had all been lined up.

He had gone and got some food and headed towards the table that Dec was waving from. His heart swelling as he approached.

Daisy was sat with a seat opposite her which Mason headed towards, however next to him was Sophia, who was sat next to Alex with John on her right. Dec had sat down next to Daisy, opposite Sophia with Ben sat next to him. This is exactly what he wanted, most of his favourite people sat around the same table.

Daisy was chatting away into Chilly's phone as he sat, only catching the tale end of the conversation.

"I already miss you" she laughed as he heard the familiar voice respond to her.

"Tell Ben that we have already opened up the last box of Champagne, celebrating him leaving" said Harri thorough the phone.

"For fuck sake, I'm never going to live that down" mumbled Ben at the far end, picking up his taco and bringing it to his lips.

"You best facetime every day babe" Ruby's voice echoed through the phone as Daisy smiled.

"We will" she said as she turned the phone to Dec who put his thumbs up, his mouth full of the Fajita he had chosen, the same as Daisy.

"Also tell Mase to go on Xbox later" shouted Woody in the background as Daisy peered over the phone.

"I will message you later buddy" said Mason as Daisy tilted the phone towards him.

"Sound bro" Woody said back to Mason as Daisy turned the phone back.

"Well I'd better go as my dinner's getting cold" Daisy said with a smile.

An echo of 'I love you', 'chat later' and 'miss you' could be heard from the phone as Mason rolled his eyes, they had only been apart a couple of days.

"It would have been nice if I got to speak to them" said Ben as Daisy handed back his phone.

"I'm sure you and Harri will talk later tonight" smirked Daisy as Mason grinned wide, knowing full well that him and Harri had already had phone sex on his first night here, and from Daisy's remark she knew too.

She flicked her eyes at Mason's and raised her eyebrow with a laugh as he laughed too.

Sophia watched their interactions smiling at the fact that they all seemed to be getting along, after seeing Mason the other week and being so concerned that he had lost his friends it was nice to see that it was clearly water under the bridge.

"Okay a toast" said Dec raising up his water bottle, the team were lenient in some ways but there was no chance they were getting alcohol tonight.

The table looked at him smiling, Alex and John had been chatting about how he didn't rate this chilli in comparison to hers and she had to shush him to listen to Dec.

"Here's to us, and what is going to be a legendary summer" he kept it short and sweet as the rest of the table raised their bottles, tapping them against one another at Dec's words.

Alex smiled at John as he winked at her, making her feel so young again whenever he flirts with her, she isn't sure when she will ever get over it.

Dec looks at Daisy, smiling at the way her 'D' necklace still sits prominent on her chest as he places a kiss on her lips before he whispers to her 'I love you Dais' as she smiles back at him replying 'I love you too Declan'.

Mason clinks his bottle against Sophia's, smiling at her, knowing that they can't do anything public right now, as it would only put them in risk.

However under the table, away from everyone else's eye sight, Sophia's hand sits in Mason's palm as he squeezes it tightly, causing them both to smile.

He looks into her eyes before looking around the table and wondering what will this summer bring?
