𝚃𝙷𝙸𝚁𝚃𝚈- 𝙵𝙸𝚅𝙴

Mason fucked up.

He well and truly fucked up and he knew about it.

He wished he could say he regretted it, but he didn't, he didn't even regret one moment of it, but what he did regret was seeing the look on Sophia's face when he saw her on Liam's laptop when he had come down to check on the Chelsea lads for England near the end of April.

He had hoped Sophia would be coming to Cobham like she normally did but his thoughts were dashed when he saw Liam arrive the day before and tell them that they had him as Sophia wasn't feeling very well, said she was hungover.

Granted she was feeling hungover from her extremely boozy weekend but that wasn't why she wasn't going.

She had asked Liam to cover hers instead, she just didn't think she could see Mason, she was sure her resolve would absolutely falter the second she saw him and it would make everything so hard if they had to go back to just being friends.

He had seen her smile falter slightly when he looked at her on the screen as he stepped into view, it had been the first time he had seen her as close to real life since last camp and he wasn't sure why she didn't look pleased until Liam spoke. 

"Oh Hunt you do still look rough from your weekend" he laughed as Sophia stuck her middle finger up "although I think these two are rivalling you for nights out"

Ben laughed as he looked towards Sophia "He's just jealous we went to The Post without him" reminding Sophia of the night they had their for Mason's birthday only a couple of months ago "he couldn't try and hit on that Natasha that works there"

"Hey, she liked me" said Liam as he laughed as Sophia laughed down the camera.

"You kept tipping her £10's every time you went to the bar that's the only thing she liked about you" Sophia said as she smirked recalling the night.

"Lucky escape for her" said Ben towards Sophia "especially with his track record" he pointed towards Liam as Sophia laughed, as did Mason. 

"Fuck off, says you two" Liam said laughing as Mason frowns looking towards Ben "I've already filled Hunt in on your recent performance issues, making sure you aren't in any kind of Grealish situation, or mine" he sniggers as Mason's glare lands hard on Ben.

"All I said was we have both not been fucking about so no scandals before camp" said Ben laughing towards Mason as he notices the look on his face "I just mentioned Harri and obvs you and Dais" he said as a pass away comment as his eyes snap to the screen seeing Sophia just smiling ahead, but it looked fake.

"Like I said to Liam, he is only trying to be a gossip because his own love life is so non-existent right now" she said with a laugh "plus if it doesn't effect your work then its none of my business"

Sophia lies as she says those words, when she heard Liam tell her that Ben had mentioned about Mason and Daisy fucking like a pass away comment she had felt her heart drop into the pit of her stomach.

Liam was so good at bringing her the gossip when she needed it or when she fancied a laugh but when it impacted the person she thought she might be falling for she couldn't help but feel like her whole world had come crashing down.

"Anyway I actually need to do some work" said Sophia before anyone could reply "lovely to see you boys and we'll catch up at camp, bye" she said as she cut off the call before they could reply, her heart hammering in her chest as she had the image of Mason staring directly at her with shock in his eyes cemented in her brain. She couldn't take it any longer.

Sophia went about her day, her mind not fully on her work, her mind not really able to process anything, just the look of Mason's face etched in her mind and the actions she knew about.

She wished she could go back and stop herself before she started feeling things, tell her old self that she shouldn't fall for him, that she shouldn't allow herself to let her wall down.

But she can't and even if she could she doesn't believe she really would.

She has adored getting to know Mason, loved being a part of his world and seeing the real Mason that he hid from the world.

She just wished things had ended better, without both of them feeling awful and a confusing relationship left to be unpicked.
