Mason's smile grew bigger the second he saw Sophia this morning. He had been messaging her during his whole drive up, even though he knew she couldn't reply, he just wanted her to know that he was thinking of her.
He had missed her which sounded so silly, he had only seen her the other day. He left Sophia's late Monday night just before her car came to pick her up, he had spent all day with her helping her pack, making sure she had everything she needed and the rest of the time they were in bed.
He knew during the camp they would have to be really careful, he wasn't sure if they would be able to sleep with one another without being caught, although he was going to give it a good try, so he wanted to have some moments cemented in his brain in case he had to wait a while.
On his drive back home he felt sad knowing he wouldn't be able to see her, also knowing that they couldn't be how they were around everyone else, he hated that side of things, but he knew it was for the best right now.
He had spent Tuesday with his family, throwing a dinner at his to send him on his way, knowing they wouldn't be able to see him properly until at the matches so they wanted to enjoy the time. He appreciated it all but couldn't wait to get to see her at St George's Park.
He hated how quickly he had to hug her this morning, how small of a gesture it was when he just wanted to wrap her in his arms, spin her around and kiss her all over, letting everyone know she was his, but he knew he needed to have a bit of patience.
He managed to get through the first day relatively fine, he just hoped the rest of the days would be as easy.

Sophia had loved being back at camp, she slipped back into the way things were, relishing in having the boys run around the pitch, while she stood on the side-lines smiling, even Liam's overbearing personality wasn't annoying her yet, she felt actually happy.
By the time Friday came round and the team had been back for a couple of days she had a rhythm.
She would make the players work hard all day, do paperwork in the afternoon and then message Mason in the evening, and also meet up for a cheeky snog which they luckily hadn't been caught doing yet. She thought that if this was how the rest of the six weeks would be then she would be fine.
"Oh Sophia Hunt" called Alex laughing at the sing song way she said her name.
"Yes Alex Stones" she said as she turned around to look at her smiling at Dani stood on the left of her and another girl on the right, looking down at the handful of papers in her hands, her sunglasses covering her eyes.
"Ready for lunch?" Alex asked her with a smile, as Sophia looked amongst the faces.
"Yes please, I'm starving" Sophia admitted as Dani looked at Sophia.
"Oh god I'm so rude" Dani shook her head "you haven't met our new amazing photographer for my team" she smiles as the unnamed girl lifts her head up, pushing her sunglasses off her eyes and sitting it into her hair that sits flowing around her face.
Sophia freezes instantly, she has seen this girl before, she isn't sure if it was in real life or in pictures but she looks familiar. It's the dark hair and dark features, the smile on her lips that looks inviting, the way her cheeks almost have dimples from her smile, a smile she has seen in photos, a smile she has seen next to Mason.
"Sophia this is Daisy" said Dani, continuing her statement as Sophia feels her face freeze, trying to produce some kind of smile that doesn't look completely fake.
"Dais is an old friend of mine" Alex said as she slings her arm around her shoulders "she knows some of the boys as well" Alex smirks towards Daisy who rolls her eyes slightly and shakes her head "but I'm sure you'll get to know her, she might be helpful with cracking some of those boys of yours" she smiles at Sophia who tries to smile back.
"Nice to meet you Daisy" said Sophia as she looked at the girl in front of her, the ex she had heard so much about, the ex who he had only slept with like five or six weeks ago.
"Its really lovely to meet you Sophia" said Daisy with a beaming smile "the boys have spoken about you a lot" she said before clarifying who she meant "I mean like Chilly, Declan and Mase, they always say you're the best out of the coaches" she said, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear as they keep walking towards the canteen to sit down. Dani sitting next to Sophia while Alex sits next to Daisy.
"So Daisy here is basically dragged into that derogatory title like me" Alex said with a laugh "she's technically a WAG" she elaborates, still keeping her voice quiet so that others who pass can't hear her "but she's like a super WAG" she winks at Daisy who rolls her eyes laughing again as Dani sniggers too.
"Cheers for that Alex" Daisy said smirking at her as she looks back at Sophia "basically I'm going out with Declan, god that sounded so childlike" she laughs to herself, knowing it still feels surreal when she says it out loud.
"But she used to be with Mason Mount" Alex elaborates further, with a raise of her eyebrow "our girl Daisy has been very busy" she smirks towards her as she knows that Daisy has confided in her when arriving at camp about how she and Dec had finally made it official and how her friends, including Mason took the news and she wanted to lighten it up, not having hushed whispers about her which she knew would come her way.
Alex wanted to make sure that Daisy had a proper girl group around her who would have her back if anyone made any remarks and she knew her and Sophia would get along, there was something about them that seemed so similar.
"Shut up" Daisy said feeling a blush on her cheeks as she spoke before turning to Sophia "I'm really making a terrible first impression" she admitted to Sophia "Me and Mason were together years ago, its old news but he's still one of my best friends, so if he does anything to piss you off in training just let me know" she smiles offering an olive branch to Sophia, feeling slightly intimidated by her and just wanting her to like her.
"Dais can be your ally for when they act up" said Dani with a smile as Sophia let out a little laugh.
"Thanks Daisy" she said back, watching the way Daisy was twiddling her fingers, obviously nervous about this all and she couldn't help but feel like she didn't want to make anything more awkward for her. However, that was short lived.
"There she is" said Dec as he walked into the room, making a beeline for Daisy, his eyes solely focused on her as he walked up to her, bent down, held her cheeks in his hands and kissed her lips.
"Declan stop it" Daisy blushed as his lips pulled away, her eyes darting around the table as Alex sat with a beaming smile next to her.
"Just buzzing to see my girlfriend here" he smiled as his hand brushed away her hair from her face and down her back as he stood tall by the side of her seat.
"I miss this" Alex shook her head "all I get now is 'ouch I hurt myself' or 'Walks said this to me' or him whining to me, long gone are the days he would actually come and see me to just kiss me" she elicits laughter from the group.
"I'll be sure to tell Stones he needs to be more romantic" Declan said with a grin towards Alex.
"Please do" Alex smiles back as she looks over Dec's shoulder seeing his usual shadow following not too far behind "oh Mason I bet your ears have been burning, we were just talking about you".
Mason frowns as he looks at Dec, he didn't know why he rushed into here so quickly but he followed neither-the-less and now he sees him stood next to a table with Alex and Dani who are smiling his way, his eyes lock on Sophia who is sat there too, her eyes look differently at him, a raised eyebrow, like she is maybe pissed off about something, but he isn't sure, he'll ask her about it later. Maybe she was the one talking about him.
However as Dec moves to the side he realises why Sophia is looking that way at him, sitting next to Alex with Dec's hand resting on her shoulder and her eyes looking at his with a shy smile on her face sits Daisy.
Fuck, he never told Sophia she was coming, and now they were here together.
His ex-girlfriend and his new girlfriend sat on a table together.
