Sophia was more than used to by now the feeling of disappointment after camp ending.

Her and Mason had been blowing hot and cold for almost two years, so she was almost at home with feeling uneasy the second they were apart.

However, this time it was different. Whereas on each other occasion it had been a reason or an excuse that one of them had come up with to not allow them to get closer, this time it had been something out of their control.

Sophia couldn't help but think about how she knew she didn't deserve this kind of happiness, this was the universe's way of telling her that, it was the powers of be telling her that she needed to stop before she got ahead of herself.

She had really allowed herself to think that things would be different this time round. That maybe she was the girl who got the boy and she actually got to keep him, that she was able to feel what it was like to finally be the girl who had it all.

But she was silly, of course something would go wrong. Granted she didn't expect Jack Grealish's senseless shagging would cause the rift but still the universe had a weird way of throwing curveballs.

She had spent some time sulking over it all, a couple of days of wallowing, fighting the urge to facetime Mason and telling him to fuck what she said and throw caution to the wind and just give things a go. She stayed strong, she knew she had to.

However a week after camp ended she could feel herself feel some form of resentment towards herself, towards the fact she told him to not put his life on hold.

It was a Friday night and she saw posts on Mason's private story, a party at his, the one he had invited her to ages ago but obviously she wasn't going to go.

She felt bitter as she looked at the way he looked, the smile on his face, the way he looked in the white shirt he was wearing, the twinkle in his eyes.

She thought she should probably click off the story but she couldn't. She clicked away, seeing a photo of him playing beer pong, a photo of him and Dec laughing, one with him and Woody pulling faces at the camera.

And then she saw a photo that turned her stomach ever so slightly.

The caption read 'Core 4 baby', it was a photo of Dec with a blonde girl leaning against him, a peace sign on her fingers and then there was Mason by the side of him, his arm draped around the front of a girl as she faced the camera, his head resting on her shoulder, their faces squeezed together.

Sophia couldn't help but look at the girl, she was beautiful, she had this long brown hair, much longer than Soph's, a golden tan coating her body and the widest grin on her face.

That must be Daisy she thought.

She hadn't ever seen her before but when she looked at the tagged names and she could see a Daisy was tagged.

Sophia clicked of the photo only to be faced with a short video of Mason dancing away, Fatman Scoops 'Be Faithful' playing out as he danced towards the camera then turned himself around, Daisy dancing away as he walked over to her wrapping his arms around her singing it directly at her as she sang it back to him.

It was enough for Sophia to stop looking, she didn't know why she did in the first place but she had and now she couldn't get the image out of her head. She felt angry, she felt upset, she felt jealous.

But most of all she felt stupid, a part of her had thought that Mason would be sat in, alone every night, like she had been, just waiting for them to be together.

But that was ridiculous.

She had told him to not put his life on hold and he was doing exactly as she said, she couldn't hold it against him. No matter how much it hurt.

Mason had left camp feeling gutted by the way things had gone, he hated the idea of once again leaving Sophia and not knowing when he would see her again.

He knew they were doing the right thing though, he had thought about it a lot after leaving Sophia's office. It just wasn't their time right now.

So even though he felt sad about it all he didn't dwell on it. He did think he might find himself mopping about it for a few days but that feeling was short lived because he had planned a party for the Friday night after camp and he couldn't really be crying his eyes out, in his pjs, eating a tub of ice cream like the girls in all romcoms do when they are heartbroken, so he had to put a smile on his face and get on with it.

However to his surprise that was quite easy to do, it was the first time he had all his friends back in the same space, with Daisy having returned to the UK almost a month ago but he had been yet to see her since she had returned so he had planned to go for a coffee with her a couple of days before the party.

And it was like a switch changed in him, just seeing her cheered him up, it was like having his best friend home.

He also knew the moment he saw her that even though a part of him if he was single would still quite happily take her to bed any day of the week, he was only human and she was gorgeous, that their relationship was strictly friends.

He didn't have the same feelings for her like he had for Sophia, so it made him more assured that the next time he got in a relationship it would be with Sophia, even if he had to wait.

So he threw himself into normal things, back to playing for Chelsea, getting himself back into the swing of things.

He went out for crazy golf with Dec, Laura and Daisy which was like old times. He just felt himself slip back in their old dynamics, taking the mick out of each other while laughing till their sides hurt.

He had just been enjoying having everyone back together, it kind of meant he didn't have time to think about Sophia properly.

He knew things couldn't change with them and he had kind of come to terms with that for the moment but he didn't want to allow himself to think about the way it felt to be around her as he knew otherwise he would be moping around for days.

When the option came up for a couple of days in Ibiza, a last minute impromptu trip with Dec, Ben and some of the other boys he jumped at the chance.

He knew he had a few days off from Chelsea training and he didn't like the of missing out, watching his friends have fun while he sits at home so he goes, he thinks how he can't wait to just put everything out of the back of his mind for a while.
