𝙵𝙾𝚁𝚃𝚈- 𝙾𝙽𝙴

Mason hated leaving Sophia again but he was able to take his mind off of things almost instantly. He had headed straight to Dec's when he got home and had managed to bump into Daisy.

He thought it would be the perfect time to get his two best friends opinion on what to do with him and Sophia.

He knew he wanted to be with her, like make her his girlfriend but he wasn't sure when would be best, he needed to sound the idea out and he only knew 2 people who he could do that with.

However, he chickened out, he got too caught up with teasing Daisy about her trip to Paris, which he was still unsure who she went with, to ask the question.

And when she took his phone, granted it was after he took hers, he froze, he all of a sudden felt protective over what he and Sophia had.

He had this feeling that he wanted to just keep it between them for a little while longer, he liked it only being them knowing.

So in the end he spoke to Dec about liking someone and not knowing what to do and whether it was the right time, to be honest he thinks he ended up just confusing Dec as well as himself so left his none-the-wiser of what to do when.

However he did know what was next on the list. He wanted to get Sophia a present. It was her birthday on Tuesday and he had already planned to go out with his friends in the evening, a pre euros night out that Ruby had helped arrange but she was also going out with her parents anyway too. Although they had made plans for the Wednesday.

He was due to be going down to Portsmouth for a couple of days to see his family before camp started and as Sophia was going to be in Oxford with her parents they had made a plan to meet on the Wednesday for some lunch and to celebrate her birthday then. And even though he still intended on doing that he did have some other plans too.

So on the Saturday he went out to get her a few presents, although he had ordered some gifts while he was at hers in the week that had arrived but he wanted to get some more things for her to open, he was always big on gifts and gestures and he wanted to do the same for her. He managed to think of some ideas from conversations they had had and by the time the day was up he was all set for her birthday.

He went to Thorpe Park with the group on the Sunday and the conversation had turned in the car to the boys love lives as the girls headed off in their own taxi.

"So Woody, you and Rubes?" asked Ben with a smile on his face as Mason just grinned.

"Yeah I really like her" Woody admitted, blushing slightly "I know we have been like on and off for years" Mason sniggered thinking of how many times him and Daisy had tried to push the two of them together but Woody would always dig his heels in "but I think I actually wanna settle down now"

"Good for you" said Dec with a smile as he patted him on the back "and I'm guessing you and Sade's are back shagging?" he said towards Tom.

The whole taxi started laughing as Tom spoke "I swear she annoys me so much most of the time but in the same way it's a massive turn on" he covers his face with his hand "sex is good, can't lie" he said "besides I wanna know more of what I heard last night between you and Harri?"

Ben shakes his head as he looks at Tom, sticking his middle finger up "fuck off" he said towards Tom before looking at the rest of the group "things just got a bit heated last night, there were some words said, I'm not proud of them but today's a new day, I don't really wanna talk about" Ben said as he looked genuinely hurt, which Mason thought he needed to find out more about it at a later date.

"Anyway Dec anything new with you?" said Woody, trying to break the tension "How dya feel about Laura and her new bloke?"

Dec just smiled towards Woody "I'm really happy for her" he shrugged "we have been over for so long that I don't see her as anything more than a friend now, so if she's happy that's great" he smiled.

"You heard anything more from Ella?" Woody asked again as the boys looked at Dec.

"Nah, that was just a bit of fun" he said lifting his shoulder slightly "she was a nice girl but yeah that's done".

Mason looks towards Dec and see's a glint in his eye, there is something he isn't saying.

He knows him better than anyone else, he knows when he is lying or hiding something and right in that moment he can see it. There must be someone else.

But instead of questioning him in front of everyone he thinks he will wait, and do it when they are together, he will find some time this week and ask him.

Maybe he will get Daisy to come with him as she's normally good at sussing things out, she is the only one that seems to know when something is going on with him.

Maybe they all need to start telling whatever secrets they have kept hidden.

"What about you Mase?" said Tom as he pulled him back to reality "anyone on the scene?"

But before Mason can answer the taxi halts to a stop outside of Thorpe Park and Dec speaks "c'mon lads enough chit chat let's get going"

Mason looks towards Dec who winks at him, letting him know he's got his back no matter what and he feels lucky once again to have a friend like him.

After a day at Thorpe Park Mason was feeling shattered but he didn't allow himself to rest. He got dropped of outside of Ben's and almost ran home, rushing past Dec and Daisy as they walked back to his for her to pick up her car and told them he would see them on Tuesday.

He jumped in his car and within 2 hours he was pulling up outside of Sophia's house. He picked up his phone and called her, the lights were all dim in the house, with the time now almost 10pm.

"Hey" Sophia answered with a slight yawn.

"Let me in" he said with a laugh as he heard a muffling sound on the phone as he looked up, seeing her hallway curtain pulled and her looking out the window and down at him. He waved up to her as she laughed on the phone before cutting it dead and running downstairs.

The door clicked open and Sophia stood there in a pair of pyjama shorts, bare legs and Mason's hoodie on her top half with a smile spread into her cheeks as he walked towards her, wrapping his hands around her waist and kissing her lips.

"Hey baby" he said against her lips as he pulled back.

"What are you doing here?" she asked, still smiling at him.

"Well I don't want you waking up on your birthday alone so I thought I'd take you out on one more date as a 27 year old and then get to spend your first minutes of being 28 together" he said, feeling silly as the words left his mouth.

Sophia didn't know when she got this lucky to have him but she also knew she didn't want to feel what it felt like before she had him. She didn't think she could love him more.

"You're amazing" she mused, as he let out a low laugh, before releasing his arms from around her waist and taping her ass before turning back round to get his bags from the car.

"I know" he winked at her as the cockiness seeped into his voice and she thought she was wrong, she really had just fallen in love with him more.
