"Someone's here to see you" said Billy, the kit man as he walked back into the changing room, having taken out the empty basket that had once housed the boys training clothes.
"Huh?" said Mason as he pulled on his football boots, he had chosen to wear a new pair today, try and wear them in before the next match. However, he had been having trouble getting them laced up right so they others headed out to train while he sorted himself out.
"A Miss Hunt I think" said Billy as he placed out a fresh towel on each of the boys' benches "I'm sure that's what she said to Jane in reception" he remarked, having pushed the empty basket through to the laundry room on the other side of the building "she said she was here to see the England lads and your name came up"
Mason thinks for a second as he hears the name, Miss Hunt? He doesn't know a Miss Hunt. And that's when it hits him, Coach Hunt, Sophia, Soph, she was here?
He stands up with his boots fitting now snug against his feet "Do you know where she is now?"
"I think Jane sent her to the café to get a drink and said you lot would be out training soon so she could watch you from there if she fancied it or head outside" Billy shrugs before heading towards the cupboard to retrieve some more towels.
Mason heads straight out the door and instead of turning towards the exit for the pitches he turns back towards the main building, up the stairs and out towards the café at the end of the hall. His boots clatter against the concrete floor, the sound echoing off the walls as he steps into the café.
Sophia had found herself a table near to the glass wall, looking out over the lawn as the Chelsea players warm up ready for a training session. She had her laptop open in front of her, a list of questions that Gareth wants answered from today's visit as well as some stats that the Chelsea team had sent through to her that she needed to validate with today's stats.
She takes a sip out of the Hot Chocolate she had chosen before placing the warm cup down and picking up the pan au chocolat she had bought with her from a cute bakery in Cobham that she has heard Mason go on about during the March camp. He was right, these were the best pastries she had ever tasted.
As she glances amongst the players she is sure one is missing, Mason. She can't seem to see him; she always knows he tries to steal focus and her focus is yet to land on him. She had checked with reception that they were all in today, but yet he wasn't out there.
Mason boots continue to ricochet off the walls as he gets further into the café before he sees her. The cream off the shoulder thin jumper compliments her slightly tanned skin, while her hair sits tied up in a messy bun, with her glasses acting like a hairband, holding her fringe back.
She was beautiful, and he felt like every time he saw her he realised how much more beautiful she really was.
Sophia looks up as she hears the racket entering the room, she thinks it must be some member of the team clattering something on their way through. But then her eyes spot him. His goofy smile upon his face, biting down slightly on his bottom lip as she feels her smile spread into her cheeks.
The sound gets louder as he walks towards her, before he reaches her table, she stands as he wraps his arms around her. It had become tradition now for them to hug, and it was a tradition they both seemed to like.
"Hey you" he said as he hugged her tightly.
"Hello" she said as she squeezed him too, probably more than she meant to at first but still she didn't care.
She had been guilty of the fact that since their night alone outside only 3 weeks ago at St George's Park that he had been occupying a large part of her mind. It would be okay if it were only when she was looking at something to do with him, but it was all the time. When she was working her mind would flick back to the conversation they shared, when she was out for dinner with her friends she couldn't stop thinking about how it felt to have his hand in hers.
