The same rain could be seen throughout the day, throughout the night. Malleus found himself staring out the window, in silence, drowning out the sound of Sebek's yelling, drowning out the sound of the world. He couldn't help but think about his human friend. They were such an odd infection. He wondered how he found himself so fascinated by them.

Yet he also found himself mourning with every passing raindrop. They reminded him how fleeting human life was. He didn't want you to die, yet he felt as if you were already dead. It pained him in his immortal heart whenever you came into his mind. Your fleeting kindness would stay with him forever, but why did you have to leave so quickly?

"Malleus, what's troubling you?"

Lilia sighed, placing a tray down a front him dear boy. He already knew something was bugging him since thunder would occasionally shake the dorm. He pained his heart to see Malleus so troubled by something.

"Mmm.." He only hummed in response, he was still searching for the words as Lilia sat in front of him, sliding a cup of warm tea across the table.

"These are ment to be times to enjoy! You only have these years at NRC once, you know? Few years then no more... A shame really." Malleus's brows furrowed as he turned to Lilia. That's exactly what he was thinking. He wasn't really happy about it either. Lilia bit the inside of his cheek at the sight.

"How about this! I have that little humans, you know the one you like, their number! I'll call them! How about you spend some time with them?" Lilia pulled out his phone, placing it on the table as Malleus only stared at the device with distaste. Technology and all those new mechanisms confused him, truly. Not to mention they were a waste of time.

"...I do not wish to disturb them."

Lilia brought his phone up to his ear, grinning, "Hello? [Name]?", Malleus's eyes wided at the sight.

"Fufufu! I'm just kidding! But... Seriously. I know the thought probably bothers you, Malleus. That eventually all things must come to an end... All things must die. But they aren't dead yet. Enjoy the bloom of their youth while you can!"

"YOUNG MASTER!" Malleus felt his eye twitch. He thought Sebek was busy training. He slowly turned to the boy. Maybe it would be a good idea to visit the human. It would mean he'd have a few moments in his life of sanity. He wasn't ready to spend so much of it with someone who wouldn't die as easily as you.

"Yes-"

"Hey, Sebek! I have something of you!  I need your help for a moment!" Lilia interviewed, standing upwards and motioning Sebek with him, shooing away Malleus. Malleus took one more look out the window before teleporting away. He had to find something do to with his time. Sitting around was just a waste of it.

The first place he could think of was the library. Which not to his surprise, was empty. He huffed, uninterested for the first time ever, teleporting once again to a hallway within the school, letting his legs take him somewhere. He walked aimlessly, searching for something without a name.

Stopping at a window, staring at the schools courtyard and finally spotting you.

You were spinning in the rain, enjoying how it kissed your skin as it fell, like it was washing away all your pain, all your troubles, all your worries. You loved the feeling. You soaked in it. You ran your fingers through your hair, feeling the rain intertwine with it, leaving behind thick heavy water soaked strands.

"You're going to get sick.." Jack huffed, holding an umbrella as you played in the rain. He felt a bit faint at the sight. What if you get hypothermia and DIE. What are you thinking? It's fun, it's nice, but at least have a coat on. You aren't like him, nor you were magical.

"Aww, don't be like that, jack. Dance with me."

"Wh.. what?"

"Pleaseeee... I rarely ever see rain and I rarely ever see you!"

He felt his tail wag uncontrollably, he growled. How could you ask him something like that? That was embarrassing! Plus, he wanted you to get inside. You'll get sick. You grasped onto his free hand, tugging him along with you around the fountain in the courtyard. He didn't tug back, he didn't resist. He felt himself fall victim to your games.

"F..fine! But only this once... I don't want anyone to see us."

It was a little too late for that. Malleus had settled down, watching you have fun as if the world wasn't even there. But it didn't matter. You were having fun. Holding his hand and feeling him twirl you, it's been forever since you've seen your dear wolf friend. Last time you saw him was when Azul was trying to take your dorm. Since then... You tried to distance yourself from him. You felt bad that you dragged him into that mess in order to help you.

He, however, was really near you almost everyday. He watched you get hurt. He never got over that even though he really wouldn't tell you. He was always right besides you in the halls whenever you weren't with someone. He didn't want you hurt again. It was after that overblot that he realized. You aren't as strong as he thought.

The more he thought about it, the more he realized. You need protection. So, when finally given the opportunity as right now to look after you when you were truly alone, he'd take it. His hands holding your own, his callouses against your soft skin, his strength modeled down to something non-existent as he held you. He controlled himself, sure not to grip you tight.

"Jack... You know, you are welcome to hang out with me whatever. I wish you weren't so busy... I know working out and all this other stuff is important to you. But I'm always here too, ya know? I can hang whenever you are free." You felt his wet tail smack against your leg as you said that, he began blushing furiously, backing away from you and holding out the umbrella. He didn't know how he forgot to make sure his tail wouldn't get wet, or close to you.

"I... I.. let's get inside! It's wet out! We can get something to eat, or something. Just get under the umbrella, you really need to remember that you can't be out in this rain. It isn't good for your health." You rolled your eyes, tucking yourself close to him, under the umbrella.

You didn't mind settling down for the night with Jack. It was a really long day. The auditions, the time with Vil, and even now. You didn't mind resting with your close friend. And that's exactly what you did. You fell asleep on him after eating some hot soup, letting him carry you back to your dorm. He held you close to his chest, listening to the sound of your soft breathing, falling asleep with you on your couch.

"How could you be so stupid? I wish you wouldn't go doing thing like this! Rain isn't like working out, or eating healthy. It could get you sick... I don't want to lose you to a sickness. Please take care of yourself..."
