4. HISTORY

『 Jungwon's POV 』

This is Freaky Friday but if you double the freaky and add scary and confusing to it. Huening Kai and Edlynne said that we will save them but instead of getting to the point, they told us an entire story.

Huening Kai started,

"The kingdom of Entwurf was created a long time ago by our father, Alarik. He had been exiled for a crime he didn't do from a far off land, a very far place from here. He had the help of the Four Guardians, who like the name suggests, guarded and protected all forms of life. Because he had no home, and everywhere he went, people cast him out. He decided to find a place for himself. So he sailed out to sea and reached a plave and mafe it a home. At first it was just a small home for himself, but it turned out that the Guardians had led him to a magical land full of creatures one would never find anywhere else. A land hidden far away that no one would ever find it. Soon the small home became a haven for all thhe creatures of the land and as time went it became a magical kingdom, which he named Entwurf which means 'to design', meaning he designed the kingdom and he named the capital, Ad Mare which means 'to the sea', beacuse it was from the sea that he found this place.

As time went on, the kingdom expanded and then, out of the blue, two siblings washed up into the shore. The girl's name was Nerissa and Cadmodeus was the boy's name. They were welcomed to the kingdom. Soon Alarik and Nerissa fell in love and got married. Everyone was happy. Nerissa and Alarik had two kids, me and Edlynne. And as for Cadmodeus, he became the military general of Entwurf. It was a prosperous kingdom and the Guardians protected it".

"You forgot to tell us the names of the Guardians", Jiwoo pointed out.

"I left it out on purpose", Huening Kai answered.

"No one can tell the names of the Guardians. They hear it everytime we say their names. Me and my brother can say it but you guys can't so don't even repeat it if we mention their names", Edlynne informed and then she continued the story in place of her brother.

"I'll continue", she said,
"my parents had reached their old age and decided to step down from their roles as King and Queen. They asked my brother who was to turn twenty one soon. My brother decided he didn't want to marry nor rule alone and came up with the proposition that the two of us would be joint rulers. On his 21st birthday, he was gifted with the power of flight and immortality and when I turned 18, I was gifted with the ability of telekinesis and teleportation by the Guardians. My brother then used his power tontry to make me immortal. It worked but it was too dangerous and he didn't wake ip for days and so that was never done again.

After our parents died, our only family was our uncle Cadmodeus who still did his job as military general, even though there were no wars, he was in charge of keeping peace in our kingdom and protecting the people. Everything seemed to be fine until one day my uncle during his routinely inspection of the kingdom came across an ancient magic, one that even the Guardians had not known of and hardly even heard of. It was called the Everrock. It corrupts those who have evil thoughts and enhances it or strengthens those who are pure in heart. It turns out that my uncle was upset that we were the rulers and got so much respect and he, after giving so much to the kingdom, didn't. So with the Everrock, he started to terrorize the kingdom. The four Guardians tried their best to protect the two of us. I'll give you their names now. Avyanna, Inna, Calum and Rhys".

"Don't you dare say their names", Huening Kai warned.

He continued for his sister.
"Avyanna found out that our uncle wanted me and Edlynne dead, but also wanted to put an end to the guardians. So the four of them summoned all their power to try and find a solution. Because Cadmodeus was not from Entwurf, no Entwurfian could overthrow him. The Guardians also couldn't go against the Everrock because it was an ancient power, anything more ancient that them, vould destroy them. So they decided to open a portal to the real world and tried to make a compromise with Cadmodeus. Avyanna, who could easily warp reality, used her powers to make our uncle think he killed us, when in reality we just became invisible and untouchble, like ghosts. She and the rest of the guardians managed to convince him to separate the Everrock and hide the pieces so that no one could ever overthrow him.

By then, our uncle had already made himself immortal and wiped out our existence from the memories of everyone from Entwurf, except the Guardians. Now, everyone remembered that it was only him who ever ruled Entwurf. Cadmodeus agreed but he had plans of his own because he felt that the guardians could not be trusted. He absorbed some of the power of the Everrock for himself and hid away the pieces and left some new guardians to protect them too. He had taken away everything that was the essence of Entwurf. What was once a united haven, got separated into ten realms and one capital realm, Ad Mare. He also got Avyanna to sacrifice something really important, that even the other guardians didn't know about. She managed to tell Rhys about Cadmodeus' plan to wipe their memories who told the other two. Being intrusted as the protectors of the Time Stone, a piece of the Everrock, they looked into the future and Inna and Calum managed to tell us everything before they lost their memories of everything too. That happened over a thousand years ago, Entwurf is still under Cadmodeus, suffering and we are still forgotten and invisible without being able to touch anything or do anything to save Entwurf".

"You guys still haven't told us why we play a role here", I spoke up since it looked like no one wanted to after hearing the story.

"What the guardians told us was like a pophecy. So, there was a prophecy. A prophecy that said that ten people will come, each one of them having a special gift, a special power that mtches with each of the realms, that corresponds with ten of the pieces of the Everrock, and they will come and save us", Edlynne said.

"And you guys think we're the ten?", Bae asked.

"Each one of you have a special gift, don't you?", Huening Kai inquired. All of us just looked at each other. If we were really in the board game, we might have become our avatars. This seriously reminds me of Jumanji. I thought.

"We'll take your silence as a yes", Edlynne said.

"Then let's get you ready. Ready for the Quest for the Everrock ", Huening Kai said.

We all shifted uncomfortably.

"And is there any way we could go home?", Yuna Noona asked.

"The only portal to the outside world is through the Minaret of the Four, home of the guardians. It's in Ad Mare ", Huening Kai answered, "the only reason you guys ended up here is because of the Guardians' enchantment".

"Couldn't it be broken?", Jinni asked.

"A spell once cast cannot be broken unless it is by the person who cast it", Edlynne answered, "since the Guardians forgot about it, the spell was never broken".

"The only way to reach Ad Mare is by passing all the other realms and the only way to get back is by breaking Cadmodeus' entire self made version of Entwurf and breaking the hold he has over the Guardians. But the only way to do that, is by uniting the Everrock", Huening Kai further explained.

"So, we have no choice ", Sunoo Hyung spoke up.

"Well, neither do we", Edlynne said, her voice still staying unbelievably calm.

"Then, I guess we'll have to help you", Sunghoon Hyung said.

We all nodded our heads slightly and slowly.

"Better to let you guys rest", Huening Kai said, "we have lots to do, for a long time".

What have we gotten ourselves into?

Well, that's the history of Entwurf, I know it makes no sense but seriously please bear with me. I really wanted to try fantasy.
