Chapter 22

Seeing that our house has turned into a hostel, Siya and I have decided to host our siblings and have a mini braai. This will be a good opportunity for us to mingle, get to know each other and obviously work on killing the animosity that brought everyone, well beside Anga, together. As predicted, this man of mine has refused for me to partake in any form of 'hard labour' even though Lu offered to assist me, so Anga is now headed to Food with Thought to collect some sides for us. When I speak of a drama King, I'm talking about Siyabulela Mathanzima. I'm currently lying on the couch, with my feet on top of Lulu's thighs, who's currently massaging my feet so wonderfully. She first soaked my feet in warm water before massaging me with some of my essential oils. Judging from my closed eyes and occasional moans, it's pretty clear that I'm enjoying this pampering session as little Miss Thing here surely knows what she's doing. She presses on the instep arch of my foot, and I moan. She giggles, "Hayi Zamo, ubhuti uzocinga uba ndikwenzani ntoni?" (No... What will my brother think I'm doing to you) I burst out laughing. One thing about this child, akana filter and what I've also noticed is that she's got one hell of a dirty mind. (She has no) "Yazi unengqondo emdaka, Lulu," I tell her. (You know, you have a dirty mind) Like her brother, she laughs like a hyena. "Hayibo Za, njani ngoku?" she asks in between her hysteria. (Hey, how now) I snap my eyes open when I no longer feel her hands on my feet, and I find her clutching her chest faking being hurt. This child. "Yehake, suzenza msulwa apha. You know exactly what I'm talking about," I say to her, closing my eyes. (Heck, don't pretend to be innocent here) She giggles a little bit more before defending herself further, "Mna andiyazi lento uthetha ngayo." (I don't know what you are talking about) I shake my head in disbelief. She may fool her brothers and everyone else but mna, I see right through her. (Me) Instead of responding to her statement, I simply hum and refocus my energy on what she's doing. A few moments later, I feel her hands back on my feet. Lord knows how I have needed this. We continue engaging in casual conversation, catching up on what's been happening in both our lives since we last spoke and boy oh boy has she been busy. "Nkos'yam Lulama!" I exclaim, shocked by the news that she just dropped. (My lord Lulama) She nods her head with so much conviction. "I know. I just hope that my siblings, more especially oobhuti, will be supportive of my decision, otherwise..." she says, her voice trailing away. (My brothers) Yho, oLulama kodwa. (Wow) I wonder when she's planning on breaking the news to her siblings. For her sake, I hope they support her when they get to know about this, otherwise...

Siya saunters into the lounge causally, "Lulama, ndicela umfaz'wam ngoku." (May I please have my wife, now) Trust this one to be a big baby. Lu giggles at her brother's neediness. "Hayi, ungamthatha. It's not like bendimbophelele," she says, removing my feet from her thighs. (No, you can take her... I had tied her up) Siya chuckles at his sister's smart mouth. "You always have something to say," he responds and plops himself beside me, right where his sister was, placing my feet on top of his thighs. Lu, who's now on her feet, collects the oils that she was massaging me with snorts at her brother before walking away.

"Ufane wagqhezula," he taunts her. (You can walk away all you like) I gently slap his chest with my hand, "Baby man. Yek'uLulu." (Leave Lulu alone) He chortles.

"Uyagheza lo." (This one's naughty) I giggle while he settles further on the couch.

"Uphi uJongi?" (Where's Jongi)

"Uphumile kodwa uthe uzobuya kwamsinya." (He stepped out but said he would be back soon)

"Mm. What's your take about lento yakhe noQaqamba?" (This thing of his with)

"Andicingi niks ngento yabo," he says in a flat tone. (I don't think anything of them) So much for trying to get his thoughts on the matter.

"Uske ubenje kewena," I whine. (Don't be like this)
