It was cold, frosty winds nipped at the tip of her nose and numbed the ends of her ears, pins and needles prickling her hands as she flexed her fingers. The cold numbing feeling would've overtaken her bare feet if it weren't for the sharp rocks digging into her soles, sending constant pain into her skin

Short puffs of air left her lips, causing visible fog to spill from her mouth. Though she couldn't see it, she couldn't see anything. Suddenly a strong gust of wind pushed back her hair, along with the ends of the wrap around her eyes. The black fabric tied so tightly to obstruct her vision, caused a headache to form from the constant unsatisfying pressure

It was cold, she noted, bringing her frigid fingers to her arms, wrapping her large white wings around her body, trying to keep out the prevalent wind as she shuddered. Where was she, she didn't know

She didn't know that she was standing atop a tall cliff, she didn't know that she was only steps away from the edge, hence she walked forward on command. Voices behind her ordering her ahead

It didn't seem too bad to listen, she didn't want to question listening because if she started she knew she'd die, disobedience wasn't taken lightly, disobedience was only followed by pain, pain much worse then the one that comes along from listening. No situation she was put in hurt more then the purposeful pain that she couldn't defend herself from. At least in these situations sometimes she had a chance, no matter how slim

So she stumbled forward blindly, letting the rocks dig into her feet, she walked until she felt no land beneath her outstretched foot

Why wasn't there land, she wondered as she shifted backward. Though because of her lack of vision she didn't know of the figure behind her, she didn't know that someone had pushed her until a pressure smacked her back, causing her to trip forward, causing her to fall

"Fly" the voice whispered in her ear before she plummeted from the edge

Out of instinct her wings shot out, feathers spreading to their full length to try and stop the speed of her drop, yet the murderous butterflies intent on ripping her organs prevailed, flapping intensely. The panic she felt caused the blood vessels in her stomach to contract causing the unwanted feeling to spring

She flapped her large white wings, trying to keep her body from falling, but unlike a bird who can leap from a cliff and soar, she dropped, like her wings were shot. She could only hear the wind whistle past her ears and unpleasant sensations writhe across her body like inchworms. She couldn't see, couldn't see how far she was from land, couldn't see if her wings failing would cause her death

Had this been their way of killing her

She tried to beat the wings up, wanting to soar upwards and yet she continued to fall

All she could see was darkness, all she could feel was the harsh winds, and all she could hear was the blood rushing through her ears and a faint crashing

What was it from

Frantically she tried, trying to allow herself to fly, flapping her wings as hard as she could, feeling the wind slip through each feather. Fly

Fly

Fly

Fly

Though no matter how hard she tried, how hard she wished for her wings to carry her body she couldn't, why
