"Honey, get down here quick. Your dinner's getting cold" Mrs Cornfield called out to her daughter.

"I'll be down in a sec mum" I replied. I changed from my fuzzy pyjamas I loved wearing.

I wore a v-neck black dress because my dad is obsessed with formal dressings for family activities, including dinner. Crazy right?

I jogged down the stairs. "Sorry guys. I'm here now, I'll say the prayers to make up" I smiled.

My two brothers just laughed and my mum remained neutral but my dad hit the table to demand for silence.

My dad is really scary but under that creepy aura is a nice gentleman.

I could actually just sit by my dad side and gist with him. He just has an easy temper and he's really impatient.

"Jasmine Cornfield Amelia! You need to learn to curb this act of being late especially matters involving family"

"This won't be tolerated again. Do I make myself clear?" he said with a growl.

"Yes daddy. I'm sorry. Um.. In Jesus Name.." I started.

"Jas!!" I heard my name but couldn't see who it was but it seemed near.

"Jas! Turn around girl" I turned to meet those beautiful set of green eyes.

"Sierra!" I hugged the owner of those eyes. I knew I had heard that voice. Sierra's my bestfriend, Sierra Neil.

She was a foreign exchange student in grade 3 and decided to stay permanently. We got along pretty well.

Our friendship was beautiful then, we met Katy Lopez our other bestfriend.

"How are you my love?" Sierra smiled. "I'm good, you? You know where Kat at?" I asked her.

"She told me she'll be coming late cause it's the beginning of the school year and in her words 'I needs her beauty sleep" then we laughed.

"Katy is such a case. Well, I'll be off now. Bye Si" I replied her then we hugged. "See ya" she ran off.

I wandered in the hallway, going in the direction of my class.

Then, a long pair of fingers covered my eyes and I'm met with his lovely cologne smell.

"Ian. I know it's you" I smiled. "Hey sugar. How are you?" he smiled with his million dollar smile.

"I'm good Ian, thanks for asking" I smiled again.

"Yeah it shows cause you really look good. Summer really made you glow sugar" he pinched my cheek slightly, smiling.

I blushed, I think my cheeks are probably beetroot red if I'm not exaggerating. "Thanks" I manage to say.

I'm sure you're wondering who Ian was. Well, he's my crush since 5th grade.

But last year, he just walked up to me and from there, we clicked. We've been close friends since then.

I've always felt he had a crush on me. It started with random compliments, the nicknames, sweet talks, random gifts too, buh who's checking? Lol.

But Ian is a really chill guy. He's a straight A grade student, fine ass boy, captain of the football team, star player, the school's golden boy. What else? Plus, he's my friend.

He's my friend! He's normally extremely picky with friends and he picked me. It's not like I even approached him first.

"Um... sugar. Earth to Jas" Ian snapped his fingers. "Oh sorry. I was thinking about how stressful today we'll be" I lied.

"Oh you'll be alright sugar. You're off to class now?" Ian asked.

"Yeah. I was on my way now" I told him. Then, he interlocked our hands and walked me to class.
