Chapter 23: "I respect your decision to not be with me"

"How dare you Amelia?" I say. It's night time and the girls are all in the room so, I start the argument.

"What you mean Jas?" she answers. "You sure know what I mean. Why would you do that to Ayisha? She's a good person" I say.

"Jas, don't prolong this forgotten matter please" Diana tries to stop me, holding me back.

I flinch at her, "Don't touch me. How can you say it's forgotten? I'm sure you're among those who thought Ayisha tried to kiss Amelia".

"But she did try to" Diana says. "How can you be so stupid to believe this girl" I say irritated at Amelia.

"She did what she did, Jas. Just drop it" Amelia tells me. I'm about to reply but I didn't need to anymore.

"You know I didn't. I never tried to kiss you. You were the one who was in love with me"

"I kept telling you it could never work especially cause of my parents and how respected they are, you don't know the damage your stunt caused to me"

"Anyway, imagine I agreed and they found out, uh? You are truly a wicked person, Amelia"

"You know you were the one who tried to kiss me and when I threatened to expose you. You beat me to it but the difference between what you did is that you told lies instead"

"Everyone believed you cause of it's you 'Amelia the popular' and it was 'Ayisha the pretender and liar'. And now you dare stand here and lie again even after these months"

"You decided I was the easy target because you knew people would believe the rumour you started because they didn't like me. So it would be easier to hurt me"

"Thank your stars, you didn't try it with Jasmine!" she yells and I'm taken aback.

"Wait.. what?" I say in surprise. "I don't know what she's talking about" Amelia tries to say.

"Oh yes you do. One day, you left your dark book or diary opened and went to the toilet"

"I took pictures of some writing, I know it's privacy infringement but it's not something you can't do so.."

"I saw something that drew my attention about someone in this room that isn't me. Should I say it or would you?" Ayisha smirked.

Her bad side is really dangerous.

"Uh Ayisha, I don't what you're playing at or what this madness is but, I need you to stop" Amelia says, as if scared.

"Madness? You've not seen madness" Ayisha cackled.

Diana chirped in, "Ayisha please I know how you feel. You're angry but you need to stop, it's not necessary anymore please".

"Oh now you can tell me to stop Diana. You watched her humiliate me, you saw how I was looked at"

"I was a huge joke. I'm sure you knew the truth or you're just ignorant and believed the lie like everyone else. But one thing you must know, this thing must end today" Ayisha grits her teeth, she's definitely pissed.

"Dear Jas, Amelia over here has been thinking a lot about you. She writes different things about you"

"She writes how sad you make her feel when you're with Rick and how happy she feels when you talk to her or you guys laugh about Rick"

"She hopes Rick leaves your life and is out of the picture so, you can move on with her even if she has to do something bad to him" Ayisha smirks at that sentence.

"Wait what? You want to hurt Rick?" I say cause anger is stirring up in me.

Ayisha holds me from standing, "No, she doesn't want to kill him. Just humiliate him, like she did to me".

"Jas I swear it's not what it's sounds like. I can explain, but you have to listen please" Amelia holds my palm.

"Don't touch me. How dare you! I thought we were friends. I don't have a problem with you having feelings for me but the line gets crossed when you want to hurt my friends, especially Rick" I removed her hand for mine.

"Jasmine it's not like that. It's just love. Love makes you want to do the craziest things. I'm sorry Jas but I can't do that to Rick even if I hate him" she pleads.

I like the fact Diana isn't saying a thing.

"Amelia, I always thought I was helping you see your good side. Now I know why you stopped being mean to me" I roll my eyes. "Love? You certainly don't love me" I end.

You see, the problem is not her feelings towards me. My anger started from what she did to Ayisha, that was a lot. For the fact her parents got to know, broke me.

And to think, she wants to hurt Rick

My Rick? She tried to cross the line with me. Yes, she hates him but such devious thoughts were not the next line of action.

I just need an apology to me and Ayisha. Then, I'll probably clear my head later cause this is a lot.

"It's not like that Jas, at all. I do love and cherish you but I respect your decision to not be with me"

"All I need is forgiveness and not to be on bad terms with you please. You have a good heart. I'm truly sorry" Amelia adds.

"Y'know I've not heard a single apology to Ayisha once. She's the one you successfully damaged" I say.

"That's too much, J" Diana finally says but I ignore her. She's my best friend but she makes some bad decision and I wonder why?

"Ayisha, I'm so sorry for everything. I know sorry can't change everything but I truly am"

"I've been a huge bitch to you and I'm sorry, I do regret it sincerely. Can you forgive me, please?" Amelia says.

"You see Amelia, I'm a devoted Muslim, a respecter of religion and a doer of the godly rules guiding us all"

"I've forgiven you a long time ago. All I want from you is to rectify the issue. Tell everyone the truth. I've been carrying shame for too long, Amelia. This needs to end"

"Right now" Ayisha cried. I don't think she knows how late it is. But, considering tomorrow's the weekend it doesn't really matter. I help Ayisha wipe her tears.

"Okay, if that's what you want and if that's what I need to do for forgiveness and for this huge burden on my conscience to leave me"

"I'll do it but that'll be first thing tomorrow morning" Amelia says, forcing a smile.

I know this is very hard for me but she deserves it.
